New Years Resolutions

I thought I would start a thread on everyones New Years Resolutions - would love to hear what everyones are.

I'm still putting some thought into mine - but I think my main one is to live my life more purposefully and not just float along going with the flow.

Oh - and to be more organised

Hope you all can share your thoughts with the rest of us!

We can check back this time next year and see how we went

I would have to say that my main aim for next year is to be more organised, lose some weight and spend more time on my Stampin' Up! business (but also make sure that I don't get to wrapped up that I don't have time for hubby, family & friends)

Look forward to reading what your New Years Resolutions are???????

I gave up making them years ago because I never kept them - most of the time I didn't even get close LOL.

I'm with Kerrie.

Then I heard on Sunrise this week that someone there didn't make them because if it's something that needs fixing they fix it when it needs it instead of waiting for each new year to come around.

Maybe that's me - or at least a "sound" reason.  Then there's the things I can't fix as they are out of my control so no point having them as NY resolutions, either.

I'm with Shelley, fix things as you need to. Our daughter is getting married in 13 months and she has been begging me to make her wedding dress. I agreed last week to do it.  We have the pattern and we are going to Adelaide in February to get the fabric. I can see me having a nervous breakdown if I don't get organised soon. Especially with all the beading she wants on it. So, no new years resolutions...... just do whatever needs to be done, sooner rather than later.

new years resolutions.....

focus more on family this year........... as this is the last year with my dad- his kidneys are in bad shape and he is refusing dialysis.

business....... to flow at its own rate this year as family is the main priority this year.

personally......to stop and smell the roses instead of racing to pay the bills! to stop smoking- WHICH I DID BEFORE JAN 1st! losing weight would be a bonus but not a major priority this year!

OVERALL: to enjoy family life and take it a little slower this year and take it in. more one on one with each child from both parents and enjoy our time more rather than planning around the next bill!

we had the most wonderful christmas this year!... we bought no clothes , toys or games! just art & craft for the entire family and relo's , while we ate , we painted, stamped , glued  on masks, cards, paper , paddle pop sticks and had so much fun and really enjoyed it ! ... it was our cheapest xmas yet the most enjoyable by all!   my eldest son (19 yrs) left a party to come home b/c it was more fun than alcohol and mates. our christmas party lasted 3 days! , usually its a few hours and a lunch!

it was so simple that the young ones thru to the grand parents could connect in one . there was no generation gap this year! we have decided its going to be our thing now! it was that perfect picture memory in reality not on a tv show!no phones!no computers! no consoles!no arguments!....just family bliss! thats what i want for my dads final year with us!!!!!

thats really nice debbie-ann, good to hear of family togetherness like that!best wishes for your dad, my pop is not well either, and is dying from leukemia - chemo every 4 weeks, infusions every 3 days, it wont be long now, but he's holding out til his daughter gets back from overseas.

my resolution, very clique, is to lose weight and get healthy!! i have let myself go by having so many things going, and neglecting myself. So yesterday we both woke up and made a commitment to this. It's not so much the weight i'm worried about, but i just want to feel better! not lethargic etc like i always do. 2008 is the year to be great!!Jo xx

I'm sorry to hear about your members of family that are ill, my prayers and thoughts are with you at this difficult time.Normally I don't make any resolutions as I don't seem to be able to keep them.  Now for a change for 2008. I have started on a cleansing and fat burning program in 2007 lost 7 kgs and more to go, this program is giving me better mental clarity, positive change in attitude and also in motivation.I am going to build my business's this year one small step at a time, staying focused by making up a cardboard sheet of my goals that I want to achieve, eg recruits, sales etc.  and also having long term goals with my family and my business's.I agree Jo 2008 is going to be great.

One Resolution -TO MAKE 2008 AND THE BEST YEAR EVER FOR MY DAUGHTER MOLLIE AND MYSELF....................

Author: kathymollie

I started on my weight loss last year and want to continue with that and improve my fitness. We are doing a big trip to Ayers Rock in June/July  this year and I want to be able to climb it!! I also want to slow down a bit with my business and spend more weekends with my family - didn't seem to have too much of that last year. My kids are becoming involved in so many activities now, and I want to be there for EVERYTHING!!

Ummm... let's see...Healthwise - well I'm pretty much recovered from the serious illness I had... so this year... it's about building up my strength... I'm enrolling into some tai chi/yoga courses next month (found the perfect place for it today!)Spiritually - looking for some "inner peace" - so will also be starting meditation next month too!!Workwise - "employed job" - what happens at work "stays at work" - no more bringing the job or stress home with me... I love the work... but I don't want to get back to where I was with other jobs (and before I got sick), where I'd be bringing the "stress" home all the time! Workwise - "saucy fish" - I really want to get our name out there and expand the number of opportunities we have here in Qld! Last year saw me break into Fundraisers and I'd really love to see that continue and be able to give back to the community as well.Hmmm... I'm determined that I'll succeed with these... as I'm already enrolled in courses for the healthwise/spiritual ones, they should be fine... the hardest will be "breaking the habit" at work!!! ekkk

I lived to good life a bit to much in 2007 and put on 8kg.. so I am part of a joint resolution (or rather a new-year bet) with my Dad and Brother-in-law.. lose 6kg by 1 June 2008 or pay a $1000 fine to the other two (and visa-versa).

Then, on 1 January 2009 if anyone has gained weight since June the fine is $5000

It is quite motivational as there is no way I am going to lose that much money.

So I basically have to lose 7.5% of my current weight of 81kg.
