Discussions : Questions and answers : Why did you join your company?

We all join our companies for a different reason mine was mainly the product quality after trying a few samples I fell in love. I then began to realise the business side of it too and the many flexible opportunities the business possessed.
So why did you join your company at the start, has this changed or does it remain the sole purpose of you staying with the business?

Hi michelle, this is a good topic.
I joined LR only for one reason, I wanted to
purchase the Aloe Vera Drinking Gel for my health
as i was very sick after having survived a bad car
accident. So rather than pay full price i joined as
a personal consumer to save the 40% mark-up price.
I was already happy with the pp i was with at the time
so had no intention of leaving it.
As my health improved, people were seeing the difference
and wanted to basically take what i was taking, I was
a walking testimony. One thing lead to another,
I started getting busy with LR requests and was faced
with making a choice.
My choice was LR Health and Beauty Systems for all
its advantages and flexibility and of course
highest Quality Products.

I joined Stardust after months of searching & researching partyplan companies, childrens ones in particular.
One day I came across Stardust, their productline just blow me away!! Their range of clothing is all designed in the UK, & 80% of the range is made in India (in a family owned company...NO CHILD LABOUR!!)
The company culture & history was one I could relate to easily. The products are unique & hip!
And the added bonus was I can sell the Stardust line however I want. I can chose to do parties, or just sell through market stalls & fetes. I can sell via an online store/dropshipping or just through the catalogue & the company designed webapge given to all the Agents on sign-up.
There wasn't any annual/monthly fee's, no registration costs & I don't have to make targets or budgets, achieve minimum sales or parties. And the closer for me was the 50% commissions!!
I'm stoked with my decision to join Stardust...
It had everything I was looking for & more!!

Yes I love the lifestyle and flexibilty and much more
But if we are all perfectly honest with ourselves..... The money!
Because if you are not in business to make yourself some money then why do it?
marina replied:
I joined the company, and I am looking back now.... because of the money....
Its really funny but it took me 7 months after meeting fifth avenue for the first time..
I had the light bulb moment 7 months later..
Sick of the ratrace, working hard for every dollar and being bored and depressed at work.. Basically just had enough of the same old thing. It was january 06 and just like that Fifth avenue came into my head.
" the thing that got me was that lady I met was making so much money and so was her downline"
I have never been a party person , or a person that could go into peoples homes.. I was a serious accountant, so the penny did not drop for me right then... Plus.. I was never what you considered a jewellery person....
Anyway like i said 7 months later i saw the dollar signs and the freedom of what this company could offer and I called her.
the rest is history.. left my job 6 month later, have a fantastic downline of girls making great money and have offspring downlines.. I have won lots of awards and just last year was the number one vintage for recruiting in Australia at Seminar.
So first and formost , yes i am still doing this for the money, because if the money was not there, how would i live and it would be a waste of time....
but I am lucky in the fact that i am getting paid for something I now love so much that the passion i have within is undescribable...
This family owned business have been around for 21 years and to have longetivity of that sort is fantastic.
The family owned company is brilliant. To be able to have close contact with them at any time is great.
I love everything about my chosen PP

FM-Fragrances-Australia-World replied:
Hi all,
Well I never actually went looking for FM Fragrances, as I was still in my day dream that Organics would work.
The company owner of FM called me to order some Manuka honey, and I delivered it to the offices, and when I got there, I said whats this all about? who are you? what do you do?
Well with those questions Jola just went on and on and on and on, took me upstairs, sat me down, went through the whole compensation plan, commissions, where the fragrances are made, why they are such good value, and yes!!!!! In so many words, said " why the hell are you doing the business your in?" " You should be doing fragrances, it will earn you more money, with less effort"
Thank you Jola for tricking me into coming on board, as I have never looked back.
Jola was 100% right about all these other industries, and of course companies, hense why I probably am the way I am, as my boss is this way.
She said look at fragrances as a business, and tell me a MLM company that is better - well I couldn't, nor could I find one
So Totally agree with Jola that FM fragrances is the best MLM business out there, as a business.
I was hesitant at first, as I was soooooooooo organic, and to sell something synthetic was against my belief structure, and Jola said" Does a belief structure pay the bills??? Very good point! :)
So I did a backflip on organics - gave them the boot, fair the well and get lost, and started selling fragrances, and helping others realise the opportunity.
Jola shares my beliefs on party plan - that is! why does anybody sign with these companies?, as you have for the most part have to carry heaps, set up, plus work your guts out normally, and for about 20%, and when you stop, so does everything you have been doing regardless of how well you did over many years, you end up leaving with happy memories if your lucky.
With FM Fragrances the income is for life. So I am setting myself up for the future, doing heaps now so I can do nothing later and continue to be paid a residual income.
I did once join a company beacuse of the product being organics and over two years it got me nowhere... I backflip and do fragrances and right now as I type after four months, my team totals 33, and every month I have received bonus money from FM, plus my commissions being a min 30% and UP............
I am so grateful for the day, a wonderful lady tricked me out of a company because I saw ideals, and she showed me the money!!!! ideals do not pay the rent, this is why I love FM Fragrances, IT WORKS, and IT IS EASY, Simple really.

P.s Adding I run my FM business as I SEE FIT:) I hate being told what I can or can not do, where I can sell, where I can't, wether I can advertise or not, etc etc, It is MY business, and I run it MY WAY, and my FM Members run their FM Fragrance business their way:)

Wow Richard, not referring to the factor one either. That’s a lovely story; I never found organic products to work for me either. Oh well, I’m glad you have joined the right company. As for the rest of you, it’s quite aspiring to hear why you all joined your companies especially these days when people refer it more to money. I find it’s more about the quality, the company, and their ethics and of course the rewards, not just the money part!

I had been searching for some time for something that grabbed me. I knew what was out there but none of it struck a cord with me the way All Things Indian did and still does.
All Things Indian is a company with a heart that wants to make a real difference in the lives of so many children. This got to me more than anything. It meant more to me than the material things in life, cars, money etc (not that there is anything wrong with anyone wanting to aim for those kinds of rewards) But for me I just wanted to feel I was helping someone and making a difference. I didnt know of any other Party Plan that could give me this kind of satisfaction. After speaking with the owner (Marty a well known member on here LOL) I couldn't help but be inspired by speaking with him and hearing his first hand knowledge of the ICMC Orphanage in which we help raise much needed funding.
The Fact that I fell in love with the products the moment I saw them was a double barrel bonus!! Seeing really was believing and all Marty had ever told me about no picture doing our products justice was just so true. The colors are so vibrant, the products are simply beatuiful and to know we are employing people in India and giving these people who are truly talented a real job is amazing.
I could go on for hours about how wonderful this company is. But one thing I will say. My passion and belief in All Things Indian is just as strong today as it was just over 12 months ago when i joined the team as their Recruitment Manager.
Kind regards

Because I have fun! - It really appeals to my creative and meticulous nature.
I create ALL items I showcase - so when you come along to a demo of mine, it's something I have come up with FOR YOU! Not something I have copied that my guests have seen so many times over. - I had a very happy hostess the other day because I made something in 'her colours'. It's what I do!
It makes me proud to be a part of my company that is so diverse in their range, because, I know something will appeal to everyone. Stamps and creating your own gift bags, novelty items and cards, and to use for scrap booking, save money in the long run too.
It makes me proud as punch of my guests, when they have made something they can be proud of themselves for. (Especially when they told me they 'couldn't' as they don't have a creative bone in their body) It's a positive and uplifting experience, and I'm sure it would be enjoyed by anyone given the chance!
Hence my motto: ~ Because Creating Matters ~
I'm a positive facilitator of the benefits of creating things yourself!
That's my job, that's why I joined Stampin Up! and that's why I love it!

I joined Edufun because I love the product. I was displaying my products at a market and the lady next to me was an Edufun Consultant, it had only been in Melb for 2 months at that stage and I thought it was another book party plan business. The consultant and I got talking and I read everything she gave me, was impressed with the prices of the products, number 1. I guess having 3.5yr old twins who love books and activities it was a great opportunity to earn a living. My candle business was slowing down and I wanted a regular income.
I joined up at the beginning of December but didn't start as a party plan consultant until March. I just became a social consultant and was amazed at what I was earning from just family and friends orders. Everyone loves our products, they are a great price, in line with the cirrculum and you are able to claim back on tax if you have school age kids.
The owners are an Australian couple and they donate 10% of all sales back to children charities. I just love how easy the products sell.
Cheers
