Our school is helping by having a gold coin donation for a free dress day.
Another one which might surprise you.... the P&O Pacific Sun is raising funds as well. Once we heard about the fires when we were in New Zealand... they changed all funds raised on the ship to go to there instead of their usual charity.

My kids small school last Friday had gold coin donation for the fire appeal for free dress.
Brilliant result over $1300.
I myself have organized a garden afternoon with our local branch of the Red Cross(details in events).
Every little bit will help but we must all remember this is a long road and much recovery to be achieved.
Helping others is always a rewarding feeling.
