Hi was wondering how you guys got started with getting bookings for parties? Did you have your own to start off? I am having a little trouble getting parties, I do have a catalogue i can hand out, Will this be of any help? Also thought about setting up in our local shopping Centre. I am with a homewares buissness selling designer homewares via pp. If anyone has any great starter tips I would greatly appreciate them as I really want to get my pp up and running and want to quit my other job.
Thanks Berny

Hi Berny
Its all numbers !!! Talk to your friends and family and get them to host a party for you. Get them to invite their friends and family and before you know it you will have a whole heap of people to ask for bookings. Another way is to host your first party yourself and invite everyone you know. I am sure your upline can also give you some of their tried and true ways of getting people to hold parties.
Cheers and good luck

Hi, welcome to the community!
As for bookings, develop a contact list; let them know of the benefits of holding a party such as host gifts or dollars. Give them a kind reminder or notice of the service you offer, overcome objections and offer them a free private demonstration, sample and of course your catalogue!

TO get started with parties I started doing booths at local shows. I learned alot though- you don't just want to set up at any place allowing vendors with booths. Try to find ones that target your target market (wether it's men, women or kids etc..) I used raffle drawings for gift cards to get leads (contact info) and started a mailing list- The first one I did- cost me $150 for the booth for the day and I got 4 bookings. I am still doing shows from those bookings 1 year later.
As a collective- the company I'm with- every year here there is a huge women's expo at a convention center- it costs a siginificant amount for a booth- but we got one last year and booked 50 parties in 3 days!!!!!!!!!!!! Within 2 weeks of the show we had calls and had another 25 parties booked! That pretty much propelled us through the summer and into fall. The expo is in 3 weeks and I am so excited for it this year! There are 7 of us doing it- so it will be plenty of parties to get us "going" again...
I have also tried some "brute force" marketing- the return is not high at all though- where i went and drove around and stuffed printed flyers for my company and having parties in people newspaper boxes. I spent a whole day doing that- but ended up with 1 party booked. IT was a great party and I am still doing parties from that party also- and I did the flyer stuffing last summer.

Are there any networking groups in your area? Those are another great way to get parties and referrals on a constant basis! We have several networking groups here- some of them are just for women and others are for men and women. They cost money to join for a year- and depending on the group can have meetings from once a month- to once a week- but they are seriously worth the investment and most good networking groups won't allow more than 1 person in- so if you are selling candles- they wont allow any other company/store/person selling candles... this is great- because all of the people in the group work together to give referals to each other.
This is HIGHLY recommended as an excellent way to get some awesome business!
