As well as doing my parties i work part time in a retail store. As everyone knows after each big occasion eg- easter, christmas products are reduced.Being a bargain shopper myself i find good little pressies to give away when people book a party.I go through themes and my current is expecting mums.Recently the party i done had a few mums to be and they were thrilled when they booked a party and got a little pressie for their unborn baby.Is anyone else doing the same if so how is it going?

Hi Renae,
I like to give my hostesses a special gift too, just from me. My mum makes personalised mugs, plates (anything you can think of) etc...... I get her to make up some mugs for me with the company logo and my contact details. It's something they can use and it's great advertising for your business also. I also put some 'adult' choccies that I personally make at home in the mug. I wrap it all up nice and give this to each and every one of my hostesses and they really appreciate it.
If anyone is interested in having any mugs or plates etc...... made for their business, PM me and I can give you the details.
I do also go bargain shopping for those little gifts that I give away as prizes. Not everyone wants to get 'rude' prizes at a party (I do adult party plan), so I've got some other things that guests may like.

I usually give a couple of bath bombs of their choice. It gives the hostess time to have a bath and relax and then after their bath they smother themsleves with the other goodies they have bought from me.

I always give my own products as gifts to my hostesses. We have occassions such as conference shop when we can buy items cheap, or I use all the gift certificates I earn to buy our products, or just invest some of my commissions. Why would I spend my money somewhere else when I can spend it on my own business?? Just my thoughts!! You are then encouraging your hostesses to use your products even more!

I have to agree with karen, I give away my products... and sometimes I make lovely votive roses out of the votives... especially if I do games...
but I have just bought candle address books for those who sign up with me

I have a treasure box filled with little things that I have made or are discontinued lines.
I make bath bombs, bath salts, candles, bath milk (ooo yummm) or cross stitch book marks for eg.
gives a personal touch.

I understand your point Karen but what if our company doesnt have conferences where we can get cheaper items ?? How do we draw in our customers then. We would still have to fork out more money to buy the companies jewellery. Its cheaper for me to buy little gifts that i know will be soon marked down.

I agree. It is hard for me to give out special something from my toys when they are aimed at children. So, i look around for bargains, like Jewllery on special, Hand creams, bath/shower wash, wine, etc and then i make a package up for my hosts. For example: In a small basket place a bath boom, small bootle of wine, a scented candle, and a light up bath duck ( duck is from my cat.) and tell the hostess that this is her pamper pack for when the kids are playing with their new toys that she can get for free for hosting her party.
It dosent cost to much, and the hostess feels special.
