My B/F ( who knows now ) invited me to go with him to the zoo.
As I wanted to spend time with him, I comprimised my belief structure, and that is, I do not believe or feel in any capacity that beautiful innocent annimals should be kept in cages at all. Especially for human entertainment, and worse as a money making venture, which Zoo's are.
Considering my guts were churning all day, looking at these poor innocent animals kept behind bars, or wire, or or or.. My heart was bleeding for them all the time I was there, and all I could see through my eyes, were innocent victims of commercial profitt.
Well at one point, the final point, after every time he would say, : Don't they look beautiful" I would snap back " Lets go to Cairns, and half of this bloody zoo roams free in the rainforest, or the reef, where God intended them to be, and we can see them for real, in their natural environment, and in their own homes, not in captivity.
When he wanted to see yet another show where animals are put on dispaly to amuse the humans who were there.. I said " I am staying on this bench" you go watch the explotation of animals"
By the time I had waited 25 minutes, I craked the shhhhits, and left, sent him an SMS saying I am on my way home, and on the ferry ( without notice ) and left him there..
If I am going to watch animals behind bars and cages, let me pay to see Guilty Criminals, as I would have no problem paying to watch them, as they are not innocent, and surely they could do better tricks.

I hope you have made up with B/F, he may not have realised it wasnt the best choice in date for you

Well I have to say the conditions in Zoo's are a lot better than they used to be when I was a kid - they really were bare cages then. But even more upsetting for me is the commercial feed lots for farm animals. Things like battery hens I find totally inhumane.
I refuse to buy cage eggs and always search for Free Range - yes you can see & taste the difference! So many people talk abotn their disapproval of caged hens.....then buy cage eggs at the supermarket cos they're a few cents cheaper.

I find it hard to put an ovilation in my mouth... do not eat eggs, can do, but choose not to.
My last parrot was only caged at night for sleeping, other than that, he ( petee parrot ) was free to raom around the house with my dogs, actually sometimes slept next to my head on the wood frame of the bed base - there is still to this day, beek marks on my bed.. Pette passed away with a chest infection years ago, and the reason I have no birds, is I refuse to cage them unless, I find them wild, and have to help them recover from whatever it is I found them floundering.. Now that I am in this house ( just to nice this one is), and I am such a narc about hygiene, I only have my two boys, and they have run of house, plus sleep with me ( that's why I am awake now at this hour, I turned over and heard YELP ) (I squished Carter a little heheh - he is fine) - some friends of mine - well most say if you only treated humans the way you treat your two dogs, you might have more friends, give me more animals anyday.

Yes please use and abuse the freek humans, but leave the animals alone..

That one i support, not because of the hot bods, but because humans, are utilising humans, and not animals, and yeah the hot bods hehhe lol :)
