Lots and lots of tears

Discussions : General discussion : Lots and lots of tears

It was 46 here today so a bit hot some may say. I filled the rabbit and guinea pigs water several times and put frozen water bottles in with them to keep them cool. I went out and fed the rabbit and she was quite happy. I got the guinea pigs food ready and went to get them. They were both dead. My son was so upset he has cried himself to sleep. They mustn't have been gone for long cos they still felt quite warm. It is astounding that they both died around the same time. When we bought them the guy at the pet shop said that they were very social animals and you should always have two as they become very attached and fret if left by themselves. I shed a tear but it was heartbreaking to see how upset my son was. We now have them in a box together and will bury them together in the morning.

Together forever. R.I.P Hammy and RJ

its amazing how fast it can happen in the heat. The sam ething happened to my rabbits one survived but we didnt think he would of but took him inside in a box and nursed him and he bounced back but the girl it was to late.

I was lucky my 2 kids were to young to understand. Hope your son feels better tomorrow

Sorry to hear about your guinea pigs. It is hard to lose our pets as they are members of our families. It was 42 degrees here today and I have spent ages spraying my parrots and furry kitten with water.

I have heard tomorrow is going to be worse.

Hopefully your son will feel better tomorrow after you have showed him where they will be resting, together.

Hammy and RJ will always be together forever.

Thinking of you and your family

So sorry to hear that sad news. Whilst our pets bring joy into our lives, they can cause such heartbreak to our children. I hope that your little one feels better soon!! Big Hugs and kisses to him!!

i was just talking to my 3 year old yesterday about getting some "pinny gigs" i told her about your two and your little boy this morning and she said she was very sad for you little boy and she has drawn a picture for him and sent him a 'rainbow'.

ps. we send a rainbows with some bits of love on it to people who are sad sometimes, the kids feel that they are helping

FM-Fragrances-Australia-World replied:

That is so sweeeeeeeet :) from your kids Hollie...

A childs love is pure, and unconditional, and innocent... the rainbow of love will help a lot. I do believe in that..

Thank you everyone for your kind words.

Richard you are so right when you talk about a childs love. The most beautiful sound to me is a small child laughing as you know it is genuine as they have not yet learnt how to "fake" a laugh.

"Pinny gigs", Hollie that is soooo sweet and you must have ESP mentioning rainbows. We buried them this morning and read the "Rainbow Bridge" and buried the poem and a picture of a rainbow with them. They will be together forever doing happy guinea pig dances.

He is feeling much better now after reading the poem and burying them but every now and then stops and says he's feeling sad because of Hammy and RJ. He was the same when we had to put our dog down 4 years ago and quite often talks about him and says how much he misses him even tho he was only 5 when we lost Tyson. Luckily we have lots of photos to remind him of them.

So sorry for you and your son.

ur horse died last year and my little boy (he is 4 now) was a little sad but did not really understand it. I think though it would be different if one of our dogs died as they are part of our family.

We also had 2 budgies die in the heat many years ago. it is a horrible thing.

Hugs!!!
