i was curious too as to why american reps are allowed to have one, especially because in australia they are supposedly forbidden. but then again any online advertising, recruiting etc is as well and we all know how much we pay attantion to this on this site hehehe

apparently there are different Avon laws in different countries.

In America and some other countries you can actually order

products on line as a customer.

this is not the case here.

Would you like your customers to order on-line and not through you?

I dont think so.

In Australia the Avon rules are very different

I believe the USA representatives receive a website of their own from the company similar to other companies which have consultant websites. They are basically all the same layout with information that can be changed such as the profile. Of course all the sales go to the rep when they are done through the website. I also notice however that Avon reps have their own free webs or other WebPages as well, not sure If there allowed that too, but even Tupperware USA demonstrators have them too, not fair when you consider Australian consultants should have one, there a good and vital tool to business.

Thanks to everyone who replied   I to think it's quite unfair, I think having your own website is a great selling tool, not that I would want all my customer's ordering through that way instead of me, no.... but having said that I would still like the option.  I think it would be great for people to be able to browse both an online and "offline" brochure so they don't feel like they have a couple of days to place an order or keep your book which is as we all know quite frustrating.

Just think it's abit one sided, us aussie reps would like to make sales aswell.

Just my opinion anyway lol

Basically Australia just doesnt have the population to support reps having websites to sell through.

My understanding is In america the ones with websites are general independant consultants meaning they brought into the business like a franchise. Here in Australia it is free to join.
