Get the chocolate one.

Then, with my barmix, I blend in pineapple, passionfruit pulp, yogurt and a banana! Tropical smoothie! If you need fibre, you can add wheatgerm to it. Or any other fruit you'd prefer - like mixed fresh berries?

It's really yummy!

I don't look for anything else, but make sure I have a really good breakfast, and munch on raw veges before dinner (as this is my pick at food time)

If I'm more prepared, the better at sticking to it!

Then, a small dinner, and even find it takes the hunger pangs away before bed as a late night smoothie snack.
(cause sometimes I'm in bed later than others, and if I eat dinner at 6, it's a long time to be without food!)

Hope this helps!

Oh, and Lauren, I went and asked at my local pharmacy, and they were really helpful and suggested Musashi to me, so you might want to do that too!

I used to work for a health and wellness company. I rather a healthier lifestyle then a shake that doesn't do what it says. Most shakes taste terrible anyway and will replace having all that good food you could enjoy. I would if I was you, choose Lite N Easy. I did it for about four weeks and I'm perfect now but still contiue to get some meals from them. Some meals are ok via the microwave and they're real and delicious yummmmyy and others are only ok in the oven, either way the taste was great! That's my input anyway, course those shakes are revolting to me!

I lost almost 25kg 2 years ago using the Positrim shakes from Amway.  One of the reasons I joined Amway, to get my 'diet' for cheap.  I replaced breakfast and lunch with a shake.  Had a healthy snack in between and a healthy dinner.  I made sure my snacks were good proteins so I wasn't hungry.  Eventually I just had the shake for breakfast.  I still have one now and again when I get busy for something quick & easy.  I've gained 10kg back BUT I've had a baby only 5 months ago so it's no drama and I will just go back onto the program again.  I would recommend it, worked for me.  Taste wasn't like eating a nice fatty tasty meal but I did like the taste, lol.

I myself lost 39 kilos doing Optifast and feel fantastic!!! My doctor did the diet and had gotten great results so I gave it a go. I started in April 2008 and had lost the 39 kilos by August. It takes a little getting used to....especially when you love your coke!! lol But I would do it again for sure. It also teaches you to drink lots of water which helped my skin a lot. The good thing about this diet is that they wean you back to normal food also. I really like the bars as they are easy to keep in your bag or in a drawer at work. I didn't like the soup though...

Good luck and I hope this helps. Pm me if you want anymore info

im interested in this subject too as i have been thinking of trying optifast....but just not sure i could hack the 2 cups of green veg you have to have at night?!?!? or so i have heard!! But wow PJ you make it sound very enticing.

I have done Weight Watchers in the past. But just not sure i am in the right frame of mind for that and their meetings.... but they do work...hmmm decisons decisions.....

PJ - Did you find Optifast very expensive??

Snazza

plainjayne replied:

Hey Snazza! I didn't find the Optifast that expensive. When you think about all the money you spend on food and the junk that you consume along with the "normal" meals we have, it can work out cheaper. I didn't much like the 2 cups of green veges at first I must admit. But, after about a week or so, I looked forward to it as it kept me regular-if you know what I mean!! lol

Prior to doing my diet, I had constant stomach problems. I was tired all the time and bloated. I was depressed about my weight which was worse. And I also had an "Aha!" moment when I couldn't reach my feet to try on a pair of shoes in front of my children. How can I tell them to eat only healthy stuff when I am stuffing a spoonful of nutella into my mouth??

I got so used to the Optifast, that I wasn't hungry anymore and would forget to have it!! Before I would have been looking for snacks 20 mins after a meal. The trick with the veges is to dress it up. You are allowed to have sauce and seasoning on your veges. I used to have broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, squash and zucchini with tomato sauce!!

And there are also frozen portions of steamed veges at the supermarket that you can keep in the freezer so you don't miss out if you get lazy and don't want to cut anything up and cook it. I loved having lettuce with cucumber, cherry tomatoes, capsicum and a little grated carrot.

You are supposed to stay away from the coloured stuff, but I didn't and it still worked with me. Have a drink of water while you eat and you may not even get through all the salad. And....I used salad dressing too!! Ssh! Don't tell the doctor! lol

So, it isn't that hard after you get over the fact that it is a diet and that it is limiting you in your food. If you are losing weight like the amount I did...you are getting back your life!

I had my first Christmas picture taken of my children and myself this year opening pressies. I didn't like to be photographed and now I love it!!

Pm me for more info....I have lots to say about it all! lol - Come on act surprised that I have lots to say!!
