As i work 40 to 60 hours a week and its killing me ... emotionally and physically cause i miss my children and i'm not there when they need me the most cause I'm at work and if I just quit I won't be able to afford a car payment ... rent... schooling... daycare... etc... Its really hard. I don't know what to do! I'm lost and my kids go around saying I live at work:(

Can anyone help me

Hi Tiffany, welcome to the site.

I would suggest writing out a plan of what you want to achieve out of working from home.  Do you want to own your own business, be a consultant with an established company, provide a service, sell products, do party plan, manage a team?

Secondly, look at what you enjoy.  You have to have passion for what you're doing so you can share that enthusiasm with others.  Do you love fashion? crafts? jewellery? pamper products? would you like to sell cookware? adult products? do you even want to sell something, you dont' say what you do now, but can you cut hair, do book keeping, cut grass?

If you do decide you'd like to do party plan, look at:

1. products you enjoy yourself, and would enjoy sharing with others

2. a need in your community that you would fill

3. a company structure that suits you, with a good consultant agreement, commission plan and room to grow.

Whatever you decide to do, good luck!

welcome Tiffany
yes that is not a lovely situation to be in.
As camsmum said you need to narrow down what sort of products you
would feel comfortable selling and Which company you would feel comfortable working
with.
Make yourself a list of what you are looking for and as you look into
each Company tick things off your list until you are happy with your choice.
All PP's will not give you an overnight success, it takes time, great effort,
persistence and perseverence.
Most of us on this site are doing very well. - You can too!

Yes - as Esther said no need to rush.  Look very carefully, there are lots of girls and guys who have rushed into one PP company, only to leave when its not 'their thing' or wasn't the right company for then.  When you've got a list of potentials, I'd send a quick private message to a friendly sounding consultant from their company (or find your nearest one from the co's website) and have a chat to them about the ins and outs, ups and downs of that business.  When you find the one that's for you, everything will click into place like it did for me with Kaszazz, and you will just know.

Hello Tiffany, and welcome to this site.

Firstly I have to agree with these ladies, and by all means take your time and don't be pushed into anything you may not be ready for.

There are many avenues for women today, and I would suggest writing a list of all your likes and dislikes, interests and curiosities.

Information is free and some even will give you samples for products like avon or candles.

If you are looking to start your own business and not party plan, there are some excellent hints and tips as well on this site.  Otherwise search the web on how to start a small business with little capital on google.

I make and sell my own candles after trying Party plan for a long time.  But now spend most of my time doing what I love to create.  This idea might be something of interest to you.

I was once a single mother with 2 little boys, and little income, missed them terribly when I had to go to work and couldn't afford the childcare fees much anyway.  So I can understand where you are coming from.

Best of luck with your search and if you need any help or have a question PM me or email.

Hi and welcome,
My advise is to find something you absolutely love whether it be a party plan or product and go for it from there.  Then it isn't work and you don't feel that push to go out to sell or in lilygirl's case create. Go to several parties with consultants from those you feel comfortable with, product and company and consultant - any consulant worth their salt will never mind this at all - and never be afraid to ask questions.
And last but not least never, ever be afraid to reinvent yourself.

Hi there and Welcome to the site.

I can certainly relate to wanting to stay home with your children. I use to work full time up till i had my 2 yr old son for Telstra in their Complaints department. Strangely enough i loved working there. Each day there were several new challenges and i loved going that extra mile to try and turn a negative into a postive. But when i had my son i just couldnt bare the thought of leaving him. So I looked at my options. It took me a couple of goes to get it right. But i am so happy where i am today. Working from home was one of the best decisions.

I agree with the advice the others have given you. Take your time. And choose something that feels right for you. You need to feel the passion for what you do.

Good Luck

Hi there, and Welcome...

I really don't have a great deal to add regarding the advise above, other than to add to it hopefully.

When deciding a PP for NOW money, make sure you check all costs with Kit, and make sure the person helping you, is somebody who will help you forever, and not drop you like a hot pudding:)

Cheers

Hi Tiffany.

When researching what you want to do, please include the background of the company. Talk to past and present members of that company(consultants) find out how head office runs their business, if their consultants always know what is going on and if they are treated properly and fairly. You want to be with someone that makes you feel you are doing a good job, and not just a on the side branch.

Good Luck with your adventure, remember it maybe be slow at first, but many of these lovely people on here have gone to make a wonderful lifestyle choice and are very successful, turn to them when ever you need advice.

Welcome to the site Tiffany.

I just wanted to say I would strongly look into Tupperware (i don't do it) what you can get out of it from them is a career, incl company car, holidays and all the rest. I know a Manager here in Brissy/GC who would be able to go through everything with you if you want her details let me know.

i sell kids clothes and have only just started, but mine is a slightly different arrangement to the standard party plan, I am basically independent so i guess it depends on what supprt you want from within the company as well. I like having my freedm and not being too commited however my lovely sister also doesthe same one as me so i will always have her to chat too about it!!

There are plenty out there and maybe you might want to do 2??? Also u have to think about when you want to work.. weekends or weekdays... nights or days..... i am finding most people want to do mine during the week which suits me as i like weekends for family time.

Anyway goodluck there are so many out there

Hi Tiffany

I agree with everyone else. You have to find something you feel passionate about and could spend hours a week talking about.

You do also need to look into all the ins and outs. It is easy to compare % of commision from one company to a next without looking into what that means - ie, whether you pay for hostess rewards out of your commision etc. etc etc

I am with the Learning Ladder and sell a brilliant range of educational books, games and puzzles for children. So if this is something that you are interested in please PM me and I'll send you info, otherwise GOOD LUCK! I hope you find something you are keen on and will work for you and your family!
