Ask your friends for referrals. 

One of my best customers has come from a referral from a mutual friend.  She's now placed an order, booked a demo, hosted a fundraising event (which introduced me to other new customers) and has said she'll be a long term customer herself. 

Show your friends anyway. 

I didn't think many of my friends were interested either, but when they saw what Kaszazz offers, some of them were keen to try cardmaking for the first time.  They know what my business is all about now, and that when they want/need something I can offer, where to come.

Home Crops

I'm not sure what your company offers or allows, but what about running some crops at home, encourage your friends with kids, or unscrapped wedding albums to come along and do a page or two each week either with their own supplies or with kits you supply which they purchase.  Even if they use their own supplies, it will build up a business relationship between the two, and it is sooo easy to say "you know what would be perfect for that layout?" and show them something in the catty, and also to be working on making your samples and gain their interest that way.
