Just a question : Gift bags

How much would spend and how many things would you put in a gift bag, and would they only be products from your partyplan company or would you put other things in as well. (A gift bag is for free to a customer to view your products as a thankyou or introduction.)

Show bags: For a fete products from your party plan how much would you spend on the items in the bag and how much would you sell the show bags for.

As a consultant if you only got 20% of sales and you were paying for the gifts yourself.

I know you would have a bit of a loss, but how much would you be willing to give out

I would love to hear your thoughts and also ideas on how other people have presented their gifts.

I know there are some great people with fantastic ideas on here please share them with us all

I try to put in a catalogue, recruit imformation, a tealight candle or soy melt (thank you  lilygirl  for that idea) and I have purchased a carton or 10 of sealed teabags that I toss in too. That way the suggestion in the covering letter is to put a cuppa on, light the candle, put your feet up and enjoy having a look through the catalogue (I also give a wish list).  Cost per bag - about $3.20 including the catalogue (most expensive item at $2.50), bag, printing, tea, candle etc.  Well worth it if you end up with a party from even one in 20 bags given.  And I have been operating for years on a 5% return.  Of course, to save on the products you throw in you need to buy in bulk or make them yourself.  You can go to auctions and get bulk lots of all kinds of goodies for next to nothing - about 4 years ago we brought 1000 small photo frames, at auction, for $45.00.
Due to Princess House being both a fragile and rather expensive product I can't put an item from my company in but do offer a set of 4 Latté Mugs as a prize to spark interest in filling out a form for my database. Hope this helps!

Hello there ,

It is up to you really as it is your business how u will promote it. and how much you can afford to put in or how much you want to give away to your customer . as each one of us have diffferent Party Plans. I suggest that if you wanna promote and advertise your products by giving a gift bag or sell gifts bag.. If you want to have good feedbacks and do products advertising you got to put products on your party plan. as no good putting some other products as a gift. Products advertising!!  is very important as thats where you will have good sale.  I sell LongLasting Cosmetics  so i give away products that they can use and try and use it  and they like the products so they order. Inside the gifts bag is Beauty Book , business card, some flyers  about how to sponsor,  and the products history, Host Party Incentives how much they will get if they host a party. I dont  do show bags..or sell show bags..

I give my customer who spend $ 200.00 a gift. at the value of $ 35.00 dollars. I order my products at 40% - 50%  off retail price. Beauty book is  50 cents each. Products  advertising all cost money but it is all worth it at the end of the day! More bookings, More Parties , More sales. 50% profit sales is very good. Downlines is a bonus. at 10% commission...so i am looking around Australia. I hope it helps. Wish you luck! whatever you decide.

cheers,

Liddy

Hello only 2 replies to my questions.

Could i please have some more great advice.

Just repost;

If you only get 20% commission from your party plan and you want to do gift bags and gifts for hostess how would you do it.  And how much would you spend before it eats into your commision.  And what would you put in the bags. (your party plan product of course) but anything else.

Thank-you for all those wonderful people for replying

I get 30% but am thinking of doing something along the lines of information, bag or bags of choc plus small sachet of drinking choc depending on amount spent $300 party one booking 1 bag $500 1 or more bookings 2 bags .Just something extra to help with sales bookings.Don't do show bags just sell product on day and hand out samples paperwork it really depends on how much you can afford.

Hi

I think I've read your post correctly !  If i haven't I appologise.  If I was doing up a show bag I would probably want to sell it for around $20.  I Note that you are with  Born2read.  I would probably do up a bag that mixed stuff in it for say 5 to 8 year olds.  You could put retail value $20 worth of Born2Read product in it, a $10 gift voucher (to be spent at a party only and with a 3 month expiry date).  Make say 4 funky bookmarks for each bag (you will need a laminator and some paper  and a computer to design your book marks (make sure they have your contact details on them but are also interesting so kids would want to use them), a catalogue or flyer with all your PP's details on it.  i would then make a sign with the value of each product (don't forget to value your bookmarks $2.50 each is reasonable) and the $10 gift voucher.  You now have a "product" valued at $40 which you are selling for $20.  If they book a party in the next three months they will use their gift voucher which will in turn create more income.  if they don't book a party, they can't use the gift voucher.  Also, don't forget that the $10 gift voucher that you are giving away maybe a tax deductable expense once it is redeemed.

Hope I've helped.

Cheers

Thanks Mel

For that information, i was only going to have things like a pen, keyring, bookmark and some small items from the company under $5 more of a sample show bags with our details sell for under $5.

But i like your idea of the $20 bags i think thats great and would be good for Christmas gifts.

ANY OTHER GOOD IDEAS OUT THERE.

THANKS
