On the topic of book keeping on the computer, if you do a search online for "free microsoft accounting software" there is a free download of Microsoft Office Accounting 2008 - its an American program, so the tax is out of whack, but if you put everything as tax free or set the tax rates correctly (I haven't really looked into it yet) then at the very least it will keep track of your expenses and revenue... I have it in preparation of starting with my new company very soon, and it seems to be pretty good.
