Discussions : General discussion : Tupperware!.......Why oh why???

If any tupperware consultant can answer this I would be most apreciative.
I just went to a tupperware party. Still got great reliable stuff but why oh why did they have to change to retro 70's colours. I was nearly blinded by the bright orange, luckily I like the products and am not into matching. But why on Earth did they pick those colours. I know for a fact one or two is ok, but not a cupboard full. Can any Tupperware person explain this....our Tupperware lady was sympathetic but like a trooper she put a positive spin on it. Has the company received feedback on response by buyers?????

Hi there!
I am finding people either love or hate it and I actually like it better than the blue coz you can see through the baking range (lemon coloured) and see how much you have in there etc. I dont like the brown in the silicon range though thats just wrong! But the Orange is fab!
THe reason they have gone those colours is that it is very 'outback Aust' kind of colours. Tupperware Aus has just been named the highest selling (buying too) tupperware country in the world and so someone here got to choose the colours.....
Its getting people talking though!

Im with you AngelKitty... they are awful.
I love my tupperware but in 2 years time they will be so out of date its not funny. Maybe thats why they did it, a marketing ploy so in a few years you have to throw it all out and start again.
cindyb replied:
Trow TW away!! What are you talking about????
It has a lifetime waranty, you just break it and have it replaced hopefully in the colour you want????
LOL
AngelKitty replied:
ok....now I understand the colours.....I wonder what people in the outback think????
Our tupperware lady said we could just buy the different coloured lids when they go out of fashion instead of the whole container, except I suppose where the container is aslo tinted.
Anyway...I still bought them......

Its all about the fashion, and Tupperware is very modern. If you go to Ikea and Freedom etc, you will see its all Reds, browns and oranges.
Tupperware has to change with the times, and to keep ppl interested, has to change their face from time to time.
the brown silicion is great, it hides the burnt stains....
downunder replied:
...so does that mean I will be able to get some spare parts for my '70's tupperware? Yep, still got the orange, yellows and browns from all that time ago, just missing a few lids or have the lids and no bottoms anymore.

sarah replied:
We might be able to do that. We can guarantee the replacement, just not the colour.
LLADVISOR replied:
I dont know for sure but i think it is a ploy to get us to buy more as almost every catalogue they have something in the NEW colour so you buy it again as you like that colour better etc this way their sales reach their peak all the time .
And well my problem is i almost always end up buying it in the new colour even if i already have it lol
Angel replied:
As the song says - everything old is new again. LOL. I remeber Mum had heaps of those retro colours back then - matched the bright orange "Brady Bunch" kitchen bench tops we had. If only she had kept it all, it would be in fashion again.
But she still has - and uses - Tupperware plates from that era. Some of you Tupperware fans may remember them??? They had a brown\tan background with BBQ theme. Rectangular with rounded corners. I like them - a very practical shape. I'd love to see a modernized version of those brought back.
cindyb replied:
The BBQ plates do have an updated version! They are purple or aqua! i use them every night for my girls! I love them, definately my fav items!
Angel replied:
Thanks Cindy. Yep, they are a similar shape, although the new ones are kind of tranparent, wheresa the ones mum has are solid white with the pattern on the top, and no rim around the edge. I had to look on the American site to find them, the Aussie site doesn't have much on it ATM. They are $27 over there, I wonder how much they are here? I also like the black microwave products on the US site - very nice. Do we get all the products here or a smaller range?

I have the juicer in orange and yellow and I love the color. I do know some people
don't like the color, but it is nice to see some bright colors, and yes it is nicer than the blue.
I also like the tropicano set.
cindyb replied:
I agree and i like the new colours better than the blue- especially in the baking range.
Angel - The AUS website is being upgraded at the moment so it doesnt have much in the way of products on it at the moment which is really annoying! Meant to be up and runnign for the spring/summer range in Aug/sept. We have pretty much all the american range but he colours are different most of the time.
I love their kids range and am going to order some soon! I believe you can get it sent over to here??!!
