Day 1 off my school bus run was seemingly going well until I had to tick off the names.

Now I was in trouble,I cant even pronounce some of these let alone find them and their spelling in a hurry.

Ive had to spell mine out for my whole life, these kiddies are in for a treat. As nice as they are lol.

Thanks to the mums with Henry,Sam and David   phew

When my DS was born one of the nurses in the NICU said to me "thank you so much for using a normal name" hahaha obviously from my username you can tell its Cameron.... anyway there were lots of weird and wonderful names in there!!!!

FoodDude replied:

Nothing wrong with Hillary Agnes and Beaufort Euguene  !!!

hi everyone,

i agree with this post in a sense. I also think that its not fun for the kids to be in a class with 2  other kids with their name. we had my son Tyler and another tyler last year and in the end my tyler was called little tyler ( he was shorter) and he thought that everyone was calling him a baby. Very upset.

So in that regard i dont think it hurts to have a different name to everybody else.

Saying that naming your baby APPLE well thats another story. my little girls name is Kayley and I  dont really see many of those around.

So im in 2 minds about this. cant make up my mind

I agree, there are too many 'out there' names!  Although, I have noticed over the past few years the names are getting back to traditional... like Harry, Jake, Lauchlan, and Ella, Isobelle & Charlotte.

My boys are Devon (which isn't very common) and Cameron (common but not too common).

I love different as long as its not too weird. My girls are Nina, Calida and Scarlett. I chose the first two for their meanings, though not all books have the same and not every book has Calida. As for Scarlett... well I am a big fan of "Gone with the wind" Scarlett O'Hara.

Melbell replied:

Scarlett is a gorgeous name!

My two boys are Mitchell and Lawson - slightly unusual but still pronouncable and spellable.

Snazza replied:

Call me old fashioned too. I just find the new age names a little....odd. I guess I am just set in my ways and showing my age....My kids are Michelle (named after my sister) and Daniel as I LOVE the name :)

Kind Regards

Snazza
