The Cost of Fuel??

Discussions : Questions and answers : The Cost of Fuel??

Just wondering due to the cost of fuel do you travel less the distance for parties than when it was cheaper.

Now that we have moved out of Brisbane (Jimboomba) I am starting to rethink how far I will travel for parties due to the cost of fuel and the km's too. What use to take me only 25min to get into the city/or close to it now takes me a good 45/50min along with an extra 30km.

Hince me wondering if the cost of fuel restricts your traveling with your pp businesses?

Cheers

Hi,

I live in the country which means 20km to my nearest town.  200km to Brisbane and 150km to Toowoomba. When i get in the car i always make sure i make the most of my trip - include doing shopping, doing a party ect.  I always make my trips worth while.  I do always, if I travel further for a party make sure i have rung the hostess to confirm she has numbers and make it worth my while.

On our farm fuel is one of our major expenses - 2 tractors, 4 vehicles.

Life must go on and we need to work out ways to save....

Cheers,

Margie

i've decided i need to find a toy boy who owns his own petrol station so i can get some free fuel!!!

LOL

or someone with shares in a petrol company?

I don't do parties but do drop off for my books and products.. All my customers are central  so i don't have that far to travel. But fuel prices are high and it would be so harder for people like yourself to travel far distances for Parties with the fuel cost..

I wouldnt ever say no to a party because its too far to travel!
I just figure i have to work as hard as possible to sell the most i can to get the most amount of money i can to pay for my expenses. Most of the time this is just hostess coaching etc to make sure they have lots of ladies show up!

AmandaWills replied:

I use to travel to do parties when was in QLD but now I find it hard to even think of traveling to the next town expecailly when I dont know what the sales will be sometimes if the ladies are really keen on having a party I just ask the to find outside booking and orders before I come just to make sure she gets the sales and I cover my costs

I am looking at heading down to perth to do a fundraiser for a lady atm which is 1600ks away but as its for a fundraiser for a sick little boy and when I told my hubby he said we would go I was kinda shoocked he said ok

Have party will travel.  I have been as far south as Tweed, north to Bundaberg and west to Toowoomba actually Dalby.
Petrol is a hideous price these days but hey it is a tax deduction so....

Recently my sister was trying to oganise a party from another PP consultant, she was reluctant to come out unless she had 12-15 guests because of petrol. If we decided to have a catalogue party she wanted $30 for the catalogues and samples. My sister lives 30 minutes drive form the consultant.

Sorry but I personally find that disgusting.
I have never quibbled about distance.  And why should I, it isn't a social visit, I go to make money and I can take the cost of petrol off my tax at the end of the year.  Ok so I know you have to have the money to pay for it first but really 30 minutes away - that is a joke.
I know pp consultants that won't go out of their district ie 2 suburbs surrounding - they limit themselves so badly.
I go anywhere and everywhere - I advertise myself from the Gold Coast to the Sunshine Coast and everything in between and as far west as need be.

I have to say that if there is a party tp be done, i am there! Petrol is just a part of it all.

To be honest - the longer the drive the better - Its my time out to drive and not think and not have the bloody Wiggles playing YET AGAIN!

I cant believe someone would charge for catalogues and samples- again its all part of the game!
