It's a rather long story but to keep it short here is what happened......

WELL....I had an extremely rude customer who kept ringing head office wanting to cancel a rather large order and wanted her refund imediately (with only 2 business working days left before Christmas). This order was already purchased and ready to deliver.

If a customers orders something and cancels it after you ordered it, the customer gets a refund once you have sent it back and the company reimburses you....right?

After being told by Head Office that yes...that is normally what you do in these circumstances, I was then told that because this woman was ringing and abusing them... I have to give her an instant refund out of my pocket to 'Shut Her Up'.  Also, I had to pay to send the order back.

Still waiting for a refund from "the company" too!

...hmm, what should I do.. what do you think? was I correct paying the woman back myself? Mr PartyPlans says I should have paid her once the company reimbursed me (the proper way).. and the phone calls are "their" problem.

Oh well, at least it is off my chest now!

I would have to agree with Mr Party Plans but it is a case of "damed if you do, damed if you don't". I am suprised to hear that the company said for you to refund straight way out of your own pocket. I feel they should have done this not you.

I personally myself would be ringing the company everyday and abusing them, as if they would like to teach their consultant's and customer's that this is the way to get your own way, then jump on it.

I would be sending a registered letter to H/O stating that they have 7 days to respond (after they have signed for the letter) with payment plus the extra cost for you or you are going to Consumer Affairs.

Hope this helps you.

Yep, I agree with you all.

The company should have done the refund not you!!!!

Very odd of the company I think to tell you to give the refund out of your own pocket.

I would be ringing them every day asking where your money is.

I couldnt agree more.  I think its very unfair that you have been made to give the refund out of your own pocket.  The refund should be coming from the Company not you.  Now you are out of pocked until they reimburse you.  Not a good way to do business i say, a good way to loose consultants to.
