Have YOU finished reading the internet yet?

Here's your time management tip for today. BEWARE - as interesting as the internet can be it is also a huge source of wasted time.

Case in point; this morning my husband and I sat down for a little meeting of the minds. Detours in the road of life have left us with just ten days to pull a graduation party together. As we sat down to make a list of pre-party `must-do's' we decided our yard needs some spring plantings. Last year, we were given a source for reasonably priced hanging baskets and flower flats. Unfortunately, we have misplaced the information and my husband doesn't remember how to find the place again without a name and address. I phoned the friend who gave me last year's info and asked her to call me back.

My huge `must-do' list should have kept me quite busy as I awaited a returned call. However, I reasoned that I should easily be able to track down the information on the internet - right? Nearly an hour later, my annoyed husband found me `Googling' my way through all kinds of interesting links.

How about you? Have you ever gotten lost in cyberspace instead of business building? The next time you are tempted to surf the internet, ask yourself first what you have done today to move your business forward. Until you have at least one concrete sale, booking or recruiting appointment, step away from that computer!
