Discussions : Questions and answers : Catalogue sales v Parties

Ok girls and guys launching a discussion on the above topic.
Many companies offer the choice between a full fledge party plan consultant/demonstrator and being a catalogue consultant which is cheaper but you don't get the product kit etc to start off with.
So, please add FOR and AGAINST points for signing up under either option, just to help newbies who are tossing up between the two.

I will go first:
PARTY PLAN -
Positive - higher sales possible in group setting
Negative - public speaking and knowing how to deal with all different customers
CATALOGUE SALES
Positive - less need for stock on hand to show
Negative - customers don't have products to look at.
Who's next??

Party Plan - definitely easier to make money in a concentrated burst, but higher up front costs in order to hold stock/demonstration items. Also some resistance to booking parties. The harder you work, the better your results, so I think overall this is the better option.
Catalogue sales - easier to get these into people's homes, but getting the orders out is another matter! You can spend an awful lot giving away catalogues that never generate a sale. I think this is quite a risky option because you have less control.

Please dont change though I love it!Its a visual thing! So sweet and innocent.
Anyway back to the post,I dont really beleive anything beats face to face sales.
You can give a full description the customer can see how good your products are.I would have trouble buying something I didnt see.
