Centrelink Question

Discussions : Questions and answers : Centrelink Question

I am just starting out in pp and am also receiving the pension & ftb. I'm just wondering if other people told Centrelink straight away or waited until they earned a certain amount. Also how did it affect your payments? You dont need to go into too much personal details. I just wanted a rough idea.

Thanks.

I told centrelink straight away. They get you to fill out a profit and loss statement. They will start off weekly or fortnightly then move to monthly then 3 monthly etc...

My earnings have not affected my centrelink payments, but I do not make such high income as some party planners do. So, it could make a difference but I think it takes a lot before it does.

Not sure if that helped! lol You could always ring them and make a general inquiry.

From what I know its best for you to call Centrelink and speak to them directly yourself and see what they suggest.

I think it depends on how many dependants you have etc as to how much they allow you to earn fortnightly before it effecting your pension. But as everyones situation is different it would be best to get it from them.

I got told to come in as soon as i have held my first party and than i would have an interview and take it

from there.  I do agree though, you should ring and talk to someone, they can tell you what to bring in

with you. Do you have an ABN if it is your business or do you pay rental on your kit.
