read the complete idiots guide to party plan selling or any other similar books.
I have been in the business for nearly 2 years and wanted it to be my only job. I had time off to have my baby (who was born in August last year) Due to having time off for her and then xmas I am only just getting back into it. I am finding it difficult to break through again
Because of this I have had to take up another evening/weekend job and I am juggling looking after the kids/ home duties/ working evenings and the party plan...
It very difficult because rather than spending quality time with the kids I am rushing around cleaning and cooking tea before I go off to work evenings. PLUS finding time to ring hostesses and trying to get bookings.
I have been meaning to write a list of previous hostesses and guests and give them a call (like the 12 bookings in 48 hours I have seen some of you ladies participate in) but I always am so stuffed or am working that when I remember its either 8 am (err way too early to call) or 10 pm (yeah well too late hey).
I would call now but trying to call people when your kids are noisy I think is a no no.
I would love any ideas you guys have on anything or if you have read a book and found it helpful please feel free to suggest for me to read it
Sorry for my ramble but IM DESPERATE...

Dear Liss,
I don't know about the Idiot's Guide, but there are some good PP guide books out there. I have recently read 'Build it Big' by the Direct Selling Women's Alliance and found it quite useful. You can often find it cheaply on eBay. If you want new, try www.bookdepository.co.uk, they don't chage any delivery fees which is great if you need a US or UK title.
BUT: I don't think anyone has some amazing 'secret formula' or sure-fire recipe for making your PP business a success. Ths isn't rocket science and you probably know the basics already: put in a lot of hard work, consistently, and you will build your business up and become (more) profitable.
I think if you have a read through the posts here, you will get lots of practical ideas and what works and what doesn't. There are plenty of ideas you can adapt for your particular PP. And you won't have to pay for a book to benefit from all the advice that's available online for free!
From what you say, your problem is one of time. I think you need to organise a 'power hour' everyday when the kids are watching TV / at the park with dad or similarly engaged and just call call call. If you do this 4 times a week, you're sure to get more bookings and have time to 'coach' your hostesses so that each party you do is more profitable. You need to be disiplined and organised to be successful in this game. If you aren't or can't find a way to make this happen, then maybe you need to consider getting a job where you have regular hours and regular money coming in and just doing PP as a hobby.

PS Hope this doesn't sound like a lecture! I'm not the world's most organised person myself...
