Hi Danielle,

Open House is great especially if you're just starting up.

What I suggest is that you have someone there to  help you with the drinks & nibbles as you don't want to be distracted from your potential customers.

Also I suggest that you have some prizes, lucky door draw, buying customer draw and booking customer draw.

Open your house for as long as you can on the day this allows for people who have to take their children to sport etc on weekends to get there, send out invitations and put an RSVP on them so you know how many people will be coming...call them up a week before to confirm their attendance.

Good Luck

Definitely confirm attendances!

i tried to have three open houses when i was doing ucw and wikidz. i invited approx 100 - 150 out of all my customer base.

the only people that turned up where my family and a few loyal customers and that was it. so basically 15 out of 150.

not worth it in my opinion.

especially when people don't reply (which i think is disgustingly rude, but seems to be the norm in society today) and you cater for `not knowing' what i happening.

hi, i agree with Donna, have someone there to help you with drinks and nibbles, as u no i just had my party, which i hosted myself to introduce my friends and family members to my new venture, i will not be doing this again in a hurry as i found it harder than i thought, getting both parts up and running, friends come in real handy for this sort of thing, but definetly go for it girl. di

I haven't held an open house but I have held a PJ and Cocktail party twice and they were both good.

Maybe when they get drunk, they order more or something. :)

I'm planning on having another one soon before the next catalogue comes out, sort of a "out with the old" party which seemed to work last time...

All the people that invite someone I haven't met before will get a ticket or a small prize or something.

I don't think you should tie up your whole day just maybe an afternoon or something.

And remember to not stress, play heaps of games, relax and have fun! :)

But i am with the others always remember to make sure your guest rsvp so you know where you are up to and how many to cater for as for friends my hubby always helps whenever i do something like that.
