I have been asked to write a guide for new party planners all about how and where to get party bookings. I would really appreciate it if you could share some of your ideas and tips with me. Hopefully this thread will help people looking for their next party, too.
Any ideas?

Hi there,
If only we had a straight plan that was hole proof...... just my thoughts, sorry if i ramble here.
To begin with family and friends and you hope from there that these parties attract new bookings. After this you need to start thinking outside he square. Mention your product and offer a party to anyone that will listen to you, the check out lady, the doctors receptionist, the chemist girls, school mums, day care worker, the butchers wife! Offer to do fundraisers for a school or creche. Do markets and fetes with flyers promoting have a party get X free. Letterbox drop in your local area and beyond.
Take out a small add in a local newspaper with the heading Hostess's required free product given or something like that.
Ask the footy mums, sporting events mums, girl guide mums, elderly citizen groups (This actually works if done properly - I once approached a senior citizen group that met each monday for morning tea and chit chat and crafts, they welcomed having a party, any excuse one of the ladies said and alot had their daughters and grandaughters with them especially)
Key is to use your mouth without appearing pushy. Be enthusiastic about what you are selling and always be on the look out for a potential lead. Being shy is hard. Fortunately Im not but for people that are shy they just need to try and build up some self confidence and realize the very worst that can happen would be a no thank you from the perspective hostess. In which you just pick yourself up and dust yourself off and move on. Never take any of it personally.
Ok no idea if i have helped you with your originally question told you i might ramble haha too early in the morning for my brain to function.
Good Luck with it and I look forward to reading others replies.

so will we/our company be given credits?? or will this be all your own work??
if you have been asked to write the guide - i am guessing you have plenty of experience and knowledge??

I could write a book on this myself.. once i start i cannot stop. i reckon I am a great booker and have never run out of a party in 2 years and teach the same techniques to the girls in my team to keep them strong.
I Hava a lot of notes that i have made up ... but you know like [ExMember148] said, who would get the credits,., or would you pass it all on as your own work...

Yes, I do have plenty of experience in the field, but there are always ideas that I haven't come across. Anyone who tries to write a guide or book without doing some research would have to be nuts. I am being paid (I think!) to write this guide but I don't even know that it will have my name on it, let alone anyone else's. If you don't want to comment that is perfectly fair and reasonable. I totally understand your reasoning.

Hi,
I cannot help you but that is great that you do ask for ideas as that is what this PP forum is all about to share and gain ideas. Who would have thought to ask for credit to give some one an idea and help one person out.....I mean thats all it is ...is sharing and helping each other..
I am happy to share ideas and just a thanks is enough for me..
I hope you do find what you are looking for..I am sure there are those on the PP forum that are more then happy to help!

I do know this is not the 'off your chest' forum and I for one do believe that the correct info needs to be in the correct forum (as you most would know) but just hold on a minute.
We ARE all entitled to our opinions and don't need nobody to be there preaching the good word of the pp forum gospel to us.
I am so sorry if I offend anyone (as has been said on many occassions) but those who know me (and lots from this site do) know that I speak the TRUTH - fend or please. I have been in the game, and around the block far too many times for me to recall.
Therefore, in the PAST, when some of you MAY not of been around (given), I amongst many others (and I won't name and praise here for fear of leaving some brilliant pper out), but we have shared more than our fair shares, and also been bitten on the behind more times than we have probably shared. Some of us even prefer to share independently with our own teams or consultants. And btw, I dont have in excess of 1000 posts for no reason, do you think I have shared some info on an occassion once or twice before?
As for asking for credit, forgive me, but I didn't get sucessful in my trade by being a doormat. And considering one may be profiting from one others ideas - get a life, where in this world do you get anything for nothing??

I think that both of you have valid points of view, and I would hate to see someone being upset by this thread. I would really like to thank you all for your comments.
One of the healthiest things about this forum is the opportunity to exchange opinions. That is how we all learn. Both of you have probably given the newer pp'ers lots to think about. Thank you.
