Discussions : General discussion : My husband is in hospital

My husband had to go to hospital late this afternoon as his Asthma is playing up and he is finding it hard to breathe. I just rang him, and he is not too bad, the xray they did of his chest wasnt able to tell them much. They have given him some Prednisone/Prednisolone to make it easier for him to breathe, but his Oxygen Saturation levels are only between 80-90%, they should be over 96%.
.
So far things are ok, my nearly 13yo son has taken his 2yo brother to bed to try and get him off to sleep (hubby would usually do that), and I am out in the lounge/dining room getting the kids settled with TV and dessert. In another half hour it will be bed time for one, then at 9pm bedtime for the other child. Usually hubby will do the dishes while I am getting the older kids organised for bed and then baby off to sleep, so not sure when bub will get to sleep tonight as doing the dishes is going to be fun with her around my feet getting grumpy and tired!
Then tomorrow...I dont drive, so will have to ring up a friend to organise a lift for the kids to get to school, to complicate things, there is a part day teachers strike in the morning ! We are hoping hubby wont be in hospital too long, our eldest son turns 13 on Sunday and Hubby doesnt want to miss it.
.
So for anyone interested in whether I have made my decision on which Party Plan I am going to go with, I will have to put that off until hubby gets better. Thank you.

Dear Mum to 5, you poor thing!
I was reeling at the logistics of getting 5 kids to bed... I think it is hard enough with 3!
Sounds like you've got a lot on your plate with the teachers strike (we've got that too) and your oldests boy's birthday on the weekend...Added to that the worry of your husbands health; you must be feeling v stressed.
I hope your husband gets better soon and that things are back to 'normal' for you then.

Hi so sorry to hear that! My hubby too suffers with athsma and both my boys, I know just how you feel as I have had them all in and out of hospital. Had to get a neighbour in to babysit last time, as Hubby was in really bad shape and wouldnt let go of my hand!!(which made for an interesting ambulance ride!) Hope that hubby gets well soon!!

Hi mum_to_5,
I am so sorry to hear about hubby. I hope he makes a speedy recovery and is back on his feet soon. I am sure people will understand that you dont make a decision about which party plan you will choose right now, hubby is more important.
Keep your chin up everything will be fine.
