Not really a baby at 8 but aren't they always our babies??
My son is home after his big adventure this week.
On Monday he left to go to Cuboree. They went by bus to Gillwell Park Scout Camp in Gembrook. Gembrook is about an hour and a half drive from home, near the Yarra Ranges National Park on the outskirts of Melbourne. A week of fun and games for him....... a week of peace and quiet for me..... Gee I missed him.
It was a bit scary on Wednesday night with all of the storms we had here. They had trees down up there and some of the kids had to be moved for safety reasons. Thankfully they kept all the parents up to date with regular updates on the website. He was so tired when I picked him up and has been in bed since about 7.30.
It was great to have a bit of a break but I am soooo glad that he is back in his own bed tonight.

Hi Joan,
Glad to hear your son is back home safe and sound. And yes they are always our babies. I have a daughter 12 and a son 18 mths YEP big gap. But I can remember wishing for peace and quiet and then my daughter went on her first school camp. I was lost without my shadow. At times it was nice to enjoy the peace but mostly i felt the big chunk of me that wasnt there with her being away. I was so happy to have her back home. I guess we all need a little space at times, but it truly makes us appreciate even more so how special our children are to us when we have that time apart.
