Ok... I'm just venting coz I need to get this off my chest before I go crazy!!
I had a lunch appointment today with one of my friends/customers and was going to be catching the bus to her work... (our usual deal)
Turned up at the bus stop (I was running a tad late, but still got there in time before the bus was scheduled to arrive)... waited and waited (there were others there before I arrived waiting for the same bus)... the bus didn't come... so waiting and waiting....
Another bus has arrived (but wouldn't have taken me where I wanted to go, so I "continued" to wait for the bus I needed) - everyone else got on this bus, as it still took them where they needed to go...
So waiting for what I figure will be the NEXT bus (this is 30-40 mins of waiting for a phantom bus, then waiting for the next one scheduled)... waiting... waiting... waiting... IT'S LATE!! Grrrr... temper was starting to peak... thinking ok fine, I'll catch a cab... but the bus has FINALLY arrived (in the meantime I've been on the phone to my friend, she was happy to continue waiting for me before she headed off to lunch, even though I suggested she start without me as I knew I was going to be late)...
Temper has started to cool at this point coz hey, I'm ON the bus now!! Nothing else can go wrong now can it?!
Hmmm... maybe I jinxed myself...
The bus driver gets a call from a friend (she's got a handsfree kit)... you can hear her laughing away to her friend (which is fine, nothing wrong with that)...
turns out she's on her "last bus trip for the day", "oh yeh, just a couple more stops and I'm outta here for the day" yadda yadda yadda) - in the meantime... I've rung the bell for my stop...
Yep... you guessed it... she drives STRAIGHT past it... I tried getting her attention and getting her to stop, but she's still so busy chatting away to her friend!
When she FINALLY realises there's someone by her side trying to talk to her, she decides to let me off on a BUSY intersection (complete with a round about) - in the MIDDLE of the bleeding road!!! "Oh we're not meant to let you off here you know, but I'll do it just this once" she says to me - like she's doing ME the favour!!! GRRRRRRRRRRR...
To top it all off... once fighting through the traffic etc... and having to walk "through" the curb gardens (complete with HUGE spider webs... coz people don't normally walk through these!!), finally get to my friend... and the canteen's shut!!! Argh!!
So after an hour or more of waiting for buses... being let off at a dangerous intersection, and treated with contempt (even though I kept control of my temper and was very polite to her), both my friend & I have gone without lunch... and I'm sooooooooo over FRIDAY already!!
Bring on the weekend - it's gotta be better than today's fiasco!!

Ren I so hear your pain with this one!
The other day I was waiting for the bus to go and visit a friend of mine for lunch - I had my son with me and i hadnt yet taken him outta the stroller because the bus hadnt yet come.
The bus arrived after me waiting some half hour for it and i was rudely abused by the bus driver because i had not yet taken my son outta his stroller to board the bus! He could of been nice and said "excuse me madam could you please take your son out of his stroller as u r not allowed to bring him on the bus like that" - but no, he was exremely rude and arrogant about it
I told him that I had intentions of taking my son out of his pram, but if he was going to speak to a passenger like that then he can forget it.
There was three other people waiting for this particular bus and they could not believe how rude the driver had been to me.
I was furious and with this attitude and ended up having to catch a taxi to meet my friend intime when it should have just been a simple bus fare.
I rang the company and lodged a complaint with them about this driver and was told that i would hear from them about it.
Why do people in the public service sector have to be so rude - a little bit of common courteousy goes a LONG way
