How to not get ripped off!

Hi there everyone,

I'm a brand new user on here, so please be gentle! LOL

I run a small party plan business, and although I'm extremely lucky to have some wonderful reps working for me now, I did have to learn the hard way.  Unfortunately, a few ladies I had recruited a few years ago, ended up ripping me off .

The way my business works is, my reps email/fax me their orders, I send out the goods, then once it has been delivered, they pay directly into my bank account (after they take out their commissions).  These 'ladies' lied to me about not delivering the goods (because the hostess requested a little longer) but in fact, everything had been delivered, and they were using ALL of the money from the parties for themselves.

I was interested to see how other pp's work with distributing their goods to their reps for delivery, so I dont get stung ever again.  I also know that some pp's post orders directly to the customer, but how do they cover the postage on every individual order?

Any suggestions would be fantastic!

Thanks heaps!

Lou

I can only order goods from my PP company by paying for them up front. My clients pay me when I take their order (v occassionally I let them have credit at my own risk). The company accepts credit card and cheque payment. I suppose you could accept direct deposit from your reps to ensure that you get the money before you despatch.

If you are considering sending orders directly to the customers, you'd have to add in a delivery fee that covered this additional cost.
