Emotion in party plan

Discussions : General discussion : Emotion in party plan

I was talking to a couple of girls on why they quit party plan and the number one reason was emotion.

Their emotions got in the way.

Everytime they got a No, it was personal

everytime a phone call was not returned it wa personal

everytime they signed someone up they celebrated

if a show wa cancelled they got depressed.

It really is a roller coaster of emotions and I felt the same way early on in the year.

I remember I was looking forward to my 3rd party so much, and when the hostess called on the day to postpone, I was down the whole day.  A kick in the guts is what it felt like.

So I have learnt to become stronger and for me now  PARTY PLAN IS JUST ANOTHER DAY AT THE OFFICE. For me I love what I do, but the emotional highs and lows are gone and I really believe this will make me a stronger business.

I read that if you are emotionally involved in a business you will stop doing things in your business which cause you pain. ( eg calling people)

Just some food for thought.

Cheers

Very interesting... I think that the "just another day at the office" attitude is a good one... means that despite knock backs you just continue to do your work and not suffer too much... or atleast keeps your mind off it while you work on improving the situation... one knock back can turn into time to get more bookings!!!

Having said what i just posted... emotion is a good thing aswell... you have to love what you do... or it won't work...
