Who else is grabbing out the candles tonight and turning off the lights for Earth Hour? Not that I have to get the candles out cos I burn them all the time anyhow.....

We had a lovely family candle lit dinner... it was a great cause!

mermaid replied:

Yes, I did too and Ive got a new appreciation for electricty! Ouch my eyes and computer screens by candlelight are not a good mix!! However I did my carbon footprint on the WWF website and Im below national averages, which is good

decordivaqld replied:

The reports on the news this morning are GREAT in relation to Earth Hour - in some parts of the world it hasnt occured yet! Seems like it was a HUGE success with all that have participated SO FAR!!!!

Marty replied:

What i found funny was that we were encouraged to turn off the power and light candles, surely candles would be giving off their own pollution.

Partylite develops candle formulas and then tests them extensively to be sure that the fragrance and quality burning lasts the entire life of the candle. Mollie and l participated in Earth hour on Saturday night....and burnt our gorgoues party lite candles....have to say that we have earth hours every night s we rarely use lights  in our house...burning candles is so much nicer than those nasty bright,..(ruining environment..)lights..and candles are so relaxing.....

Hope everyone enjoyed it as much as we did..........Congrats Joan on raising this very important topic...

Cheers...Kathy

mermaid replied:

Good point Marty, I saw the promo from World Wildlife Fund and they recommended beeswax candles as the best option...as most 'everyday' candles give off toxic elements ...I understand soy candles are excellent too

candlelover replied:

I'm sorry I raised this subject now....

I only wanted to find out who participated and how.

I really didn't expect people to "bag" the product I and others on this forum sell.

We are all entitled to our opinion but a bit of tact wouldn't go astray.......

kathymollie replied:

Oh Joan............We appreciate you raising "earth hour" as it is such an important issue.......

AND l for one LOVE our Partylite candles that l have recieved from you via my party.....

You go girl..//your candles are great...thanks.........Kathy

candlelover replied:

Tks for your support Kathy.

Didn't really mean to vent soooo much. (Maybe I should have posted in Off Your Chest)

It just really annoys me when someone posts something like that that is

unrelated to the topic.......

Glad you love your candles and hope to catch up soon.
