Honey Products?

Discussions : General discussion : Honey Products?

Hi everyone

I've resurrected an old idea about selling everything to do with bees and honey ( my dad is a beekeeper so hence the obsession),  can anyone suggest things I might be able to sell, make or buy?

Though the main problem i have at the moment is coming up with  a name that is broad enough to encompress anything honey or bee related

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks and have a lovely day

Cool!! all things bee!!! Love to know how you go, very interested in bee wax candles and the solid honey? dont know what its called but dad loves it!

CustomCandles replied:

Hi Janelle,

What about "Honey Bee's" for a name.

Gives you the honey and the bees.

What sort of products are  you looking at selling?

You could make honey scented soaps and candles.  I am sure that you would be able to get bee moulds from somewhere.

I actually make mobiles with bee hives and bees on them.  They look really cool if I say so myself.

The choices are enless with bees and honey.

Let us know how you go with your progress.

Good luck with it.

Would you believe  I had a conversion with a mate today about honey!

We were talking about "Super Bee" on the Sunshine Coast and Honey Tasting... (Superbee has heaps of different honeys you get to sample)

...honey tasting at a "Party Plan"... hmmm?

Jellie replied:

WOW, thank you everyone for your positive answers, i'm really excited now .

Tanya:  honey is such a fantastic braod range product isn't it, from pollen to even the honey comb so many health benefits, i love it myself lol

Scrappy:  honey goes "candy" like crystalized is that what you mean? or there is also creamed honey?

Sharon: love the name thank you :), not to sure what products as yet, i want to try and have a broad varitey, i'd love to do candles, beauty products etc etc maybe even have my own  bee design?

Partyplans:  ohhhhh I LOVE Superbee, that would be a dream of mine to own that, but I soooo love your idea of honey tasting, there are so many variety you can have it's endless, mmmmm may have to think more about that hehe

Thank you again everyone for being so positive, that's just one thing I love about this site, if anyone has any ideas please feel free to through them at me, i need all the help I can get at the moment

Have a great weekend

Hi there,

What a wonderful idea and a wonderful resource you have in your dad being a bee keeper.

I use Honey all the time. If I think i am getting a cold I have a little in my cup of tea. I drizzle it over cereal and of course honey and crumpets!!!mmmm my fav!!!

A chinese lady i used to work with also told me of a remedy for a chest type cough which included one raw egg place in a mug of boiled water and then 2 teaspoons of honey. It really works. Sounds revolting i know!! But the water kind of cooks the egg so it looks like chicken soup and the honey makes it drinkable and helps with its goodness.

I have heaps of Honey recipes so let me know if you want any. But honestly the ideas are endless. Its such a wonderful piece of nature. Dont forget the honeycomb! Yum!! Perhaps another name suggestion could be a Hive of Delights? Hive honey bees get it LOL.

Good Luck and will look forward to hearing more on your endeavours

Just a thought, a shop I used to go to has now closed down, but it was called "the beez neez" and had a logo of a bee and a hive. It was really cute, they sold all things bee and honey. It has been out of business many years now (small country town) but if you like the name I dont think its still registered?

Jellie replied:

Scrappy

How adrobale is that, i love it!!,do you remember what products they sold at all? don't want to copy but i'm really stuck on ideas

Thanks heaps again, i think i'll have a look into the registeration etc

Personally when I heard BUZZ ME - I immediately thought of Richy and my line of business (just add AA batteries girls!!)

Also, another thought, for any name, corny or not, is whether the domain for it is available, and whether it will be easy to remember.  Eg :  www.itsabeething.com.au ??  easy to remember or hard to forget ?Doing some searching on a domain site might help.

Jellie replied:

[ExMember148]

I had such a giggle at your post . I had a look at a domain registeration page, thank you for the idea and "it's a bee thing" wasn't registered so that's a good sign.  Do you think it sounds corny at all or do you think it fits with what I want to sell eg everything bee and honey related?

Thanks again and have a great day

Janelle

Snazza replied:

Hi there

Its a Bee Thing LOL!!! So simple and to the point. But I guess it works. As its Bee related. I personally still like my Hive of Delights haha but at the end of the day we just WANT Honey!!! So what ever you come up with that feels right for you i am sure will do well.

Remember to keep up posted with any updates :)

Good Luck
