Hi there :)

Just joined as I'm looking at different  ideas atm to make a bit of extra cash, so PP is *one* option  :) I am not sure if it's for me, but I cant seem to find a PT job that suits my hours either.I am a student and single mama to 2, and am not looking to make PP my career (am starting a Graphic Design business eventually). I just would like to find some way to make a little extra money, as am struggling financially, with more flexible. family friendly hours. I have done Tupperware before, which I am considering again, but I don't really feel it's *me* tbh..plus I am not really a "salesperson" though I am happy to talk to people about products etc. I do make soy candles and baby goods which i sell at markets sometimes-have considered that, but feel its not a broad enough demographic. Besides which, making the candles costs a fair bit for materials, and I haven't done too well at selling them. Actually markets have not been overly successful for the baby products either!

I really just want something I can do part time-if I go into PP, I could do no more than one party a week, and I would need that is relatively easy to sell. I dont have a lot of tiime available to put into networking, promoting etc.

All suggestions are welcome :)

Hi there, and welcome :)

Good on you for being so upfront and honest, and not jumping into a PP company for the sake of it. I think its great that you are looking for something that is really suited to you, as i think that is very important.

Have a look around, there is so much to choose from! Decide what area you like (alcohol, clothing, scrapbook, jewelery, kitchen) and go from there.

Good Luck, and I hope you find something for you

Hi

Welcome to the site, there is loads of great info on here, I have been a tupperware demonstrator for around 18months now and still love it but have recently decided to try something else out as well.

It can be really hard deciding what to sell, the only thing I can say is make sure you love the product you decide to sell and you will do well at it.

Good luck deciding

Hi there

Welcome to the forums.  This is a great place to start and do your research.  There are a large number of Party Plan co's at the moment and you need to find the one that is right for you.

Have fun looking and researching and get as much information as you possibly can.  You'll meet some terrific people on this site, and be able to share their experiences and tips.

Cheers

Thanks for the welcomes :) Yeah it's really hard. I sort of just want to concentrate on my business, but badly need some immediate cash!   I know I did OK with Tupperware so am seriously considering that, but on the other hand, would like to do something a bit different as well :) Stuff that people may not have seen but is easy to sell, and broad appeal. I like stuff like jewellery, scrapbooking (though I'm more of a digital scrapper lol) asian/Indian style homewares, aromatherapy, new age stuff or food/alcohol(SubculturalMum I have been to one of the parties you do and loved it! Hosted one as well.  Have considered that one too :) )

Will have a look at your site Margie thanks :) Thanks all, going to look around the forums more :) I've looked for a listing of PP's, comparisons etc but cant find one-can anyone help?

Hi Ariele,

Good luck with your search - I see you have kids, so if you (or they!) are into books have a look at www.totallearning.ws

The Company Directory on the home page of this site has a lot to look at too.

Hi Ariele

Firstly - welcome to the Party Plans Forum - I'm sure you'll find this place to be FULL to the brim with great ideas, hints and tips, not to mention the overwhelming amount of resources that are available on here too!!

You'll also find we're all a very supportive and friendly bunch... keen to help each other out and share ideas etc...

As per the other comments - you have DEFINATELY come to the right place for your research! There's soooo many party plan companies available out there today - and the ways to represent them too (as either a party plan consultant, catalogue consultant or even as a hobbyist!! something to suit everyone's lifestlyes)

As you've pointed out - the great thing about the Party Plan industry is that it IS flexible!! We can work around our families, our commitments - even our jobs... and still make a viable income!!

Wishing you all the very best for your decision with which party plan company you choose to go with... it certainly won't be an easy one with soooo many great companies out there to choose from!!

Cheers,

Hi Ariele,

Well done for being honest.  Im Rachel from viva-aroma, aromatherapy.  I do my PP part time and i love it as i can fit it into my schedule and I love it.  I have done other PP before but viva-aroma I really clicked with.  The other consultants are fantastic and it is an Australian owned company which i loved and we support the Breast cancer foundation.

Hi and welcome!   Hope you have found what you're looking for!  I only do 2 shows a week for a max. of 4 hours and do pretty good with that, so you'll find something out there that you're interested in.  You just have to decide which one.

Good luck

Belinda
