Discussions : Starting your own Party Plan : most popular days to hold a party?

HI
I am about to launch a new party plan business with my sister. We realise that Saturdays would be most popular- just wondering how successful you are at having parties on other days. Are week days popular with the Mums?- do you get many night bookings - ie Friday nights?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Loumiss,
Welcome to the forum
The answer to your question would come under the "who is your target market" question.
For us- our target market is mums to be and mums of under 3's. Weekdays are by far much more popular than weekends. This is because the largest majority of our hostesses tend to be either stay home mums or mums that work part time. Weekends tend to be reserved for their family time when the husbands are at home from work.
The exception to this is usually first time preggie mums that are still working. They are more likely to request a weekend as it fits their time frame and also their working friends.
We NEVER do night time parties. Anyone with small children will understand why. It all depends on what you are selling ,and who you are selling it to. (Your target market)
Once you have identified your target market, you will then be able to figure out the time frames and days that will work best. I have noticed that mums with little ones will be most likely to book either a 'morning tea' or 'afternoon tea' time slot. Although, afternoon is out for mums that already have school age children as they need to do the school pick up thing. etc etc.
Hope this is helpful,
Cheers, Andrea.
