Discussions : Questions and answers : How Many Consultants???

I am starting my very own PP company from scratch and obviously will grow into it over time, the question I have is how many consultants do people think I would need to be viable, what sort of sales are average, how many parties should consultants be aiming for each month.

any feedback would be appreciated

Hi Marty

You go for it !!!  Foodie Parties was started by myself and a good friend in October of last year.  We spent a good 8 months planning and researching before we launched, and I really believe that this is the key to being a successful business in any field.  As far as how many consultants, this depends on a number of things:  1.   What is your product ?  2. How much do you see selling per party ? 3. What are your costs ? 4. How much commission are you going to pay ?  5.  What price are you able to sell your product for ?  (ie note I said what price can you sell it for, not what price do you want to sell it for.)  If you can answer these questions and if you have a good business plan and a plan of where you want to be one, two and five years down the track, that is how you can work out how many consultants you need and the number of parties that your company will need to hold in a month.

Hope I have helped.

Cheers

Mel

Hi Mel

I have an excellent Marketing Manager and have done our Marketing plan but still have to do business plan, we will be importing from India, kitchen and bed linen, curtains, pillows, and some gift items, we are not going for huge mark ups as the more we sell the more we produce in our factory and that equals more jobs, I dont want to make a gazillion dollars but need to make a living and at least 40% of our profits will be going to an orphanage in India,

I found a product that we will be selling on another PP and they are selling it for more than double what we intend, mind you I dont think that they would sell many of the item at that price.
