I did have a look, and noticed that the person involved in this is also involved in another EXPO in Nambour. Which we paid our fees for last year, and then this week received an email saying that their accounts were in their accountants hands and we would be getting a refund. Then a few days later saying that they are going ahead with it, but 6 months after the planned date. I am still awaiting my refund. Just a note to all.
Lilygirl_wytch replied:
Am unaware of the details, was asked to exhibit and I have declined due to other commitments, thought I would pass it on to others who may be looking for this type of expo.

Still waiting on refund!!!
Lilygirl_wytch replied:
WOW! you've really done your homework! didn't realise how much of a frustration this has caused.
Glad I didn't get involved. Thanks for your warning!
ExMember148 replied:
No not really, just peeved at not getting refund as promised and the whole principal of it, obviously I wouldn't be the only person waiting.
UPDATE : Do NOT deal with this person. Received notification from Lifeline Financial Services re this person/business being unable to pay debts.
I have made my complaint to office of fair trading as well.
Lilygirl_wytch replied:
It's all very strange isn't it how these people change their business names and get away with doing wrong to others.
We didn't realise she was the same person as the whole life festival that we attended. It was another person who called us and made no reference to the previous organiser so didn't click!
Again so glad I said NO to her new venture.
Hope you get your money back soon.

Just wanted to remind everybody, that this person still has this website and others up and running (qldwholelifefestival) so if approached, RUN!!! No money has been received by refund at all.............. Goodness knows HOW MANY people she took money from!!! Pass this on to your unsuspecting friends and associates as well!!

Just an update to be very AWARE of these type of expo organisers, self claimed organisers wanting you to pay upfront and to pay to put your wares in their sample bags etc............ YOU HAVE A VALUABLE SERVICE TO THEM - they should be GRATEFUL for all the extra business like yours can generate for them!!! It costs THEM NOTHING to throw a couple of hundred of sample bags together............And as has been seen on here before, it doesn't matter the SIZE of the company, they can ALL go bust, even if they have previously organised huge events prior.
This is the update of this business http://www.secretwomensnetwork.com/
account suspended!!
PASHION replied:
I believe that is a load of crap what you have just said!
not all expo organisers are rip offs!
and telling people not to pay to go in bags thats bullshit!
because you have no idea the type of public libity insurance we pay for these events!
I am not even covering my costs on my event!
and i feel honoured to have the businesses that I do have.
so before you bag off every expo organiser get ur facts straight! just because you have been ripped off once don't think that everyone is out to do the same thing!

Pashion, T
There have been a few girls on here been burnt badly by organisers of expos not once but a few times. [ExMember148] was only stating that any company/business can go bust at any time and do your research before investing your money in attending any type of big event as the amount for attending with your business can go into the $1000's which is a huge investment for small businesses especially if you are a party plan consultants.
In the regards to bag fillers I have spoken to a few pp business owners on this subject and they no longer recommend to spend the money on fillers as they have had more out of handing out their fliers directly to those to attend as it gives them a one on one connection to each or those who are interested in their business with out the costs involved in bag fillers.
On both notes this is just my thoughts. There is 2 sides to expos like anything - the good!! and then the bad.

I suggest you pay on the day. That way your money cant disappear.Even if a deposit is required I would make it a small one so if things go bad its not such a huge loss.
Do you let people have items they havent paid for? No!So I wouldnt pay out for something that hasnt happened yet.
As business owners of course we all know about public liability.
True to say some are OK and others have been rotten so its natural to protect yourself and your hard earned cash.
