Goodie Bags

Discussions : Tips and tricks : Goodie Bags

I just read about a great idea from one of our more experienced consultants. Its what she called goodie bags.

This lady uses them when bookings are a bit lower than the standard she sets for herself. To achieve one of her bags a hostess has to do only 2 things - hold to her original date and have a minimum of $400 in retail sales. This MUST be made very clear at the time of booking.

In the bags she has some of the companies products. She uses full size not samples. I'm not sure about other companies but we have a promotional product allowance that lets us order in products at a heavily reduced rate to use in such promotions.

Once they have met her two conditions she rewards them with the bag at the end of the party.

These can be a great booking incentive - especially for those who may be reluctant to host their own party.

Wow Kelly - thanks for sharing! I'm doing something similar for my parties in Feb (offering "bonuses" when they reach min $300 + 1 confirmed booking - on top of the usual hostess benefits) and I see Michelle (Stampin' Up) is offering great incentives for her customers in Feb too!!!

What a smart move... it will help generate some business after a somewhat quiet start to the year (with everyone getting over Christmas AND getting the kids ready for school again... never a cheap feat that one!!)

I can definately vouch for this idea!
I used it for January. When I did my booking calls (and bids at parties) in december, I announced that all January VIP's who held on their original booking date (regardless of whether the party qualified - and they all did anyway) I would offer them a special prize.
At the parties, the VIP's chose from a mystery garment (in their choice of size) or a wrapped gift (pamper packs I got at the post-xmas sales).
These were extremely popular, my hostesses felt rewarded and I held 16 parties in january and I'm now set up with bookings and sponsor leads for the year :)

Anyone who's thinking about trying something like this, I definately say give it a try!!!

Kelly replied:

These are proving to be extremely popular. With most parties achieving 3 or more bookings and they are holding to the original dates. No cancellations and no movement means an excellent and ever expanding forward program. Would highly reccommend giving it a try for those who are struggling with bookings, cancellations and movement.

Hi Kelly, just a quick question, was there a value to these bags?  For example $50 on PP which could easily be well over $100 in some cases?

Kelly replied:

I've been using up to $50 pp (but never over) on these bags but always try to keep them the same retail value. The ones I've used this week would have retailed at close to $150. Retail value is all I ever tell them - never mention that it only cost me x amount.

Great idea,I love it.I have heaps of new items (stock)laying around due to updating catalogues.

What a great idea also with this perhaps you could include a chocolate (to have with a cuppa while preparing guest list) and packet of biscuits to have with a cuppa at the party.

SexxxyThingz replied:

Great idea but my customers have never had coffee or biscuits.

Its more along the lines of all you can drink, strippers and pizza

Just wanted to bump this up as it is a fantastic idea that Kelly has put forward.

kelly this idea has also worked for me as a business owner promoting my business not in the Party Plan way, so I guess it's a win win all the way.

thanks again
