Discussions : Starting your own Party Plan : Response to Black List for Serial Party Planners

I wanted to respond because I found all points of view extremely valid. (And I hope no-one takes my views too personally or feels offended. It is just one of many different points of view in relation to this topic.)
I don't think we can judge poorly or black list someone because the company they joined isn't what they wanted or didn't work out. Black listing is way too harsh. Sometimes we are too quick to judge their choice to leave in a negative, defensive way & accuse them of wasting time in training etc. But it could simply be that they came under a really rude person or they didn't believe the prices justified the product. Or they found the company only valued the top selling people and forgot the little people.
And in relation to jugglng party plan companies at once - why not?????? I tend to think that if the party planner promotes all companies and products in a healthy and positive manner and different companies present opportunities for continued parties and income - what should it matter? Afterall being with 3 companies would present an opportunity to hold 3 parties per year with the one hostess. A bit like looking after the customer!!!!
Lets not forget why a lot of us take up party plan. We don't choose to leave our husbands and children on weekends because it is our first choice. We do it because party plan, for those of us with children, presents an opportunity for us to work from home and be a mum yet still contribute an income to the household. So a system that presents the most earning potential would be ideal.
To set the record straight I would only work for one party plan company at a time. Too expensive and exhausting to chop and change!!!! But I would genuinely support someone under me who chose to to take up with another party plan whilst with me if it benefited their financial means.
I also live and breath the company I work for. I just love it!!!! BUT I would never enforce onto someone under me to be as committed and devoted as I am. We all have different skills and coping mechanisms and as managers we need to know how to develop and encourage our staff. A "one size fits all" approach can be devastating.

I really think you need to change your topic title.
THE TOPIC - BLACK LIST - was meant for those who seriously get burned along the way. And I am talking the companies, consultants etc. Sure it might only be the 1 in every 10, 100, 1000 or whatever, but it can be just this 1 that can bring a small company to its knees.
BLACK LIST was not meant for the few little whingy niggly things that get to us along the way. LOOK at the big picture.
And BTW, ask any of my consultants, I think at all times I have been fair, non-judgemental and fully supportive of their whole endeavours.
Don't judge me either, walk in my shoes.

Ooooooppppsss sorry - I did say up front I hope no-one takes my post personally. Aplogies if you feel as though I personally judged you. Sorry I don't even know you personally or know much about your company. Apologies if anyone else personally is offended by my post. Was not my intention LOL.

Just to re clarify, Julie of Hushy products, I have seen work her guts out, to create from inception a viable company, that not only brings in a return for herself, a return for the consultant, and if in years time Julie is making sh..it loads and the the consultants are still only making the the rates set out in the terms and conditions, well thats what you signed up for, and regardless of company, thats what you signed up for - should you wish more - there is only one way - follow the example of a woman who is making it, that being Julie - and it is her brand and her product, sourced from a supplier yes - however lets remember if it was not for these small business opperators, who in their vision are trying to have a win, win everywhere, should be supported if it is the product you feel you can sell- however in my opinion, the only way to make real money out of PP is to have your own, and Julie Darlink I hope 2008 nets you a million, and if others want that type of money, do your own thing, as you won't in my opinion make it doing it for somebody else, regardless of product range, as there is always the risk the the PP company will be bought out, EG: That whale eating company Pola cosmetics went retail, what happened to all the mlm people doing it, the only way to have full control is do your own.
Well done Julie.
