to whinge .................

..... when agreeing to partake in a SS - why don't you consider options such as postage, and purchase something that fits nicely in a $5 postpack.  That way you don't have to worry whether your SS is in the next suburb or in the next state.

I really can't believe I even suggested doing this - NEVER again, to such an ungrateful group of people.  The whinging and whining, for goodness sake, I have a life too!!  What ever happened to being grateful and generous.  Doesn't anyone do random acts of kindness anymore ?

This is the season of giving and caring, not wanting and whinging!!!

(ps: my personal opinion, fend or please, this is what off your chest is about)

How disappointing to hear....

I personally didn't take part, (personal reasons), but it sounds like the majority have only done it to receive something for nothing, and not give anything in return.

Well done [ExMember148] for organising this, YOU make this time of year special, too bad everyone else couldn't play suit.

Well said. I for one Julie appreciate the time and effort you took to organize this for everyone who wanted to be involved. I have sent off my gift and paid for the postage, don't we all????? I am waiting for the recipient to post that they have received it. I haven't received my gift as yet  but I am sure the SS fairy will be knocking on my door very very soon.

I am sure upon saying YES to SS people on this site were aware that they "might" get someone who lived in another state. So maybe they should have thought about that if they did not want to pay postage. Christmas is about giving not whinging about b@#*$y postage. Take it on your shoulders to be bigger than a few small dollars - to maybe cheer someone up with a small ($10) gift. No-one expects a million dollar gift (and if they do then maybe Christmas is all about the wrong thing for them).

For me personally the expense of postage was a small fee to pass on the TRUE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS!!!

I thought when I put my hand up that this group would be in it for the right reasons, maybe I too was wrong.

THANK-YOU JULIE FOR TRYING!!

* and if the excuse is the postage or 'I have had no time' then maybe you should have thought about all this first IMO

Are you serious? People are complaining about paying postage? I must be living under a rock cos i havent seen any post on that. But honestly I cant understand why anyone would even mention postage. How did they honestly think their SS present was going to be sent ? Courier pigeon? I posted off my SS gift and paid for postage and until this thread didnt even give it a second thought. After all I was simply posting off what I had promised to do. People never cease to amaze me.

Thank you so much Julie for all the hard work you put into this. I use to love Kris Kringle at my work and this was going to be my first year without doing it in a long while - so i jumped at the chance to be involved in this one. I appreciate all your organizing and thank you for taking the time to throw it all together.

I totally agree with you Julie

You have done an awsome job in setting this Secret Santa up, and it should be a fun and giving experience for everyone.

We all knew that there would be postage involved when we put our hands up to take part, if this was going to be an issue, then spend a little less on your pressie or don't take part.

I can understand why Julie does not want to take part in arranging another SS with the negative response to the postage.

Job well done to you Julie for taking on such a big task.

I hope that everyone likes their pressies.

Sharon.

Sad to hear after so much effort.

I personally didn't get involved as I was concerned about time frames and too much else going on in my life

Hel replied:

Oh my goodness!! I cant believe that people are complaining about postage - that is so sad. How else do they expect to get their gift to their Secret Santa?? Were they planning on driving all that way to perso9nally drop it in their letterbox?? Then we would hear complaints about petrol.

Honestly there just isnt pleasing some people, no matter what they will find something in each situation to whinge and whine about. Personally, Julie I think you have done a wonderful job and you were so very kind and generous to offer to do this for everyone and if people want to complain to you then they have a problem - you did this out of the goodness of your heart. Good on you I say, I appreciate your work and I didnt even think about paying postage when i sent offf my secret santa gift - it was the last thing on my mind

I absolutely loved the whole idea.  I love Christmas and giving and receiving is so much fun.  It is a shame that some people spoil it for everyone else.

A lot of time and effort goes into organising such a task and I appreciate what you have achieved Julie.  Merry Christmas to you and may you have a wonderful successful New Year with you family, friends and business.

Hi guys

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound all heroic, I just kind of meant, it only takes a few sour grapes to spoil the whole bunch!!!

Merry Christmas
