Thanks Renae for both the public apology and the pm explaining this was about the poetry competition, not winning an Ipod.

Maybe you could post the link for the competition in shameless and get a few more votes that way!

I personally would want to be blocked from your email. Even if you don't like junk emails is it that hard to have sent a private email back to the person responsible saying "Please don't forward  junk emails to me as this is my business email. Thanks"

You did not deserve the public apology you got, if anything you should apologise for the way you handled the situation.

I am sure there are many people out there who agree with you, and they don't like those emails either - but they don't need to go out and slam the person that did it!!!!!!!

I didn't post the name, Renae chose to do that. I had emailed her privately and have passed PM's back and forth to her as well. I also suggested that she might like to remove her post as I had no intention of listing names.

This post was prompted as this was not the first of this type of email I have had from members here. I have never had "repeat emails" as I have always dealt with the issue off the boards. I have also never had problems with members of the many other forums I use sending me junk emails using forum listed addresses. I elected to post about the problem not the individual as I wanted to whine.

I am reminded that in other areas in the this forum it has been stated that this section is called "Off my Chest" that is what I was doing. All I wanted to do was say I don't like my business email being used in this way.

I too agree with Cath here ladies and I do not care who's feet I step on. When other PP members email you current promo's, try and recruit you, offer free accounts to get sales etc.. this does drive you crazy and is unwanted. Having said that if I have given my email personally to the person then I am agreeing to have info sent e.g newsletter subriber etc...

I also often get all of those pass on to 5 people etc.. from pp members who I consider online friends but I choose to delet them straight away just like I do with my real life friends sending me the same emails. Frankly I do not have time for such emails and if there are those who do have nothing better to do than think they are going to win something for nothing they need to think about who they are giving their details to and what comes around goes around.

I take my hat off to Ren for her post as Cath did not expose her and it was a general post regarding other emails she has received. The issue is that if a few are getting emails then others might be too and unless you have requested info just do not email other members unless you want to purchase or book a party. Of course if you are friends emailing for a chat that is fine - I do this to both Cath and Ren as both are my friends.

Please notice that I have not mentioned names of pp members who have used my pm or email for such purposes but have posted as this is a general "Off Your Chest" post not an attack on any one member.

Also note that you can be reported for abusing the pm system and this a rule when you join PartyPlans.

Thanks for your comments, however Cath is quite completely right in what she has done here. I can completely understand where she's coming from with her post (and it is a section to get something off your chest).

It was me who chose to expose myself... I wasn't asked to say anything, nor was it hinted at that it was me with regard to the email.

I have learnt from my mistake and I have absolutely NO hard feelings towards Cath, she probably wouldn't have received some of the above comments if I hadn't exposed myself (so sorry bout that too)...

I love this site and the friends I've made on here - I would hate to think that my post might have created some negativity here, so can we please just look at in a positive light - Cath expressed an opinion which I'm sure many on here share...
