Hi, My name is Tania and I am a consultant for Essential Additions. What is that you may ask? We sell handbags, travel goods and girft ideas, and believe it or not this Australian Company is 17 years old! What I find difficult is finding people who would like to join this unique party plan company. Has anybody got any ideas on joining people?

Just ask EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!
I am like you I find it difficult to find people that want to join a company. I invite people to special events and information evenings.
One thing we have been told is:
"Listen to the wants and match the wants to a benefit in the business"
So if someone wants a job that isnt 9-5 you say "You know, this business would be great for you. I only work WHEN I WANT TO WORK and I NEVER work 9-5 each day"
Also, we use feel felt found to overcome objections.
If someone said to me I am completely shy I say to them "You know *insert name* I used to feel the same way. When I first joined with nutrimetics i felt so shy i could barely pick up the phone but I have found that people are so supportive and helpful in this whether its your manager or your clients........."
Goodluck!
Where abouts are you based???

Hi and Welcome,
There is no easy way to join people and if your focus is too much on this, it will not happen.
I offer the opportunity to only people who give me a sign of interest.. I give them the information and I stay in touch once a month through the magazine I send out.
I believe what I have to offer is a gift. a special gift and I will not ask people to join. If they want to join they will contact me....
You have to build up your business one party at a time and one recruit at a time.
Just go and have fun, mention the business and this is all you can do. If they are interested then they will let you know.
If you have a good business plan, great products , etc they will come to you. Never hound anyone or persistently call them.
When I started the business I did not even focus on joining people up. It just happened to the point where my bonus cheques on recruiting are huge...
Good luck.

Thanks guys for your quick responses!
I am based in Launceston Tasmania, there are only 2 of us here in Launy and SO SO busy. I have 10 presentations booked in October and already 6 in my Diary for November! I let everybody know this, I put the call out for Help, but it just seems that people just want to sit on their bottoms and wait for things to happen instead of making them happen! Thanks for reminding me about the Feel Felt Found theory, I had forgotten this, although it was in my training!!
Cheers
Tania

dont forget to sell yourself first! attract future consultants with your personality!! make them want to have you in their lives - more than just a consultant and as their next best friend after all you are going to spend quite a lot of time together in training and meetings!......people want to be with people socially and if they can combine this with employment its a bonus! think about it for a second- if you really wanted to join something and its fully your choice to join or not - but didnt feel comfortable about the person who was going to be your manager would you still join!....... the product and or business comes off second when you are talking about a choice to join you/your team..choice is not a neccessity! choices makes recruiting a different game plan! ..let them enjoy you and see you-(not just the consultant!)... as well as your products!..try a different approach and see what happens! i wish you all the best hun, cheers!

Hey Tanya and welcome, I am sure you will find lots of useful advice around here!!
Next have a browse here http://www.partyplan.com/forum/topic.php?tid=2919
Then you might be able to ask you questions in a more specific area (probably general at the moment would get you the most feedback for your question)
