I had this problem when all the new smilies arrived (and so did others, there is a post somewhere about this). That was also on my JERRY machine (geriatric). I now have a super duper puter and connection and you know what ? It is still slow as most times!!

on another note i find everything loads quick (including the smilies)!!
i guess it depends on your settings. I wonder if theres a setting where individual users can select for smilies to be disabled in all posts? as some have issues, others dont.. hm!

I love the smilies...I think you will find if they are slow loading it's your settings, unless you have, as [ExMember148] says a Jerry! I think the smilies add to the feel of the words being written!

Don't get me wrong, I love the smilies too but they have slowed my system right down. I like SPEED!!

You mean the editor is slow to load.. or the whole site?
Actually, I have the same problem (editor) when I use computers running the older version of internet explorer (version 6 or less).
I may see if I can make it so people with slow 'puters can have a plain text editor without the bells'n'whistles.

And I love smilies too but I do love speed as time is of the essence.
