Hi Everyone
I had a great party on Saturday $960 orders plus 3 party bookings!
One lady who booked a party told me that the new thing was to host a party at the consultants ( my house) and the hostess would bring all her friends along!
Well I dont know weather I got sucked into hosting the show in my house or if this is the new thing?
Can anyone help me out here - I heard it was the new thing for Tupperware?
Anyway I do suppose it has its advantages. I operate my business from my home so all my stock would be on show and people can also buy on the day.
Its on this Saturday so I will let you know how it goes!!

My suggestion here would be to be careful! I've never heard of this and I've been doing partyplan so several years now.
The only time I've ever done anything similar is when I hold a hostess appreciation night at my house. I invite my hostess for the year and release to them any christmas specials we have before I release to everyone else.
She may just be trying to find a way to get around actually having a party or doing anything for it. If you do proceed and if i was in your position I would ask a for a guest list with contact numbers so that you "can make sure they have accurate directions on how to get there because you wouldnt want them to miss out on all the fun"

I would be a bit apprehensive about letting a heap of strangers that I didnt know into my house, unless you know the hostess really well!!! I have never heard of it before either, but I have held my own open house before!! I would deffinatly be getting names and contact numbers!! I hope it goes well let us know!!

I've not heard of this either - an open house yes, but not the consultant holding the actual party for the hostess. But it would be a good lurk for her though - she gets all the bonuses and credit and doesn't have to do anything for it. Are you expected to provide the drinks and nibblies too??
Apart from the above thought, I wouldn't feel comfortable inviting strangers into my home, unless I had a specific place I work from, like a converted garage studio or something similar - so they won't be traipsing through the house. Call me suspicious LOL.
If you look a couple of threads down, you'll see a post from Shaz105, who has just joined Tupperware. You should ask her or any other Tupper ladies here, if this is what the company are now doing. One of them should be able to give you the low down.
But good luck with it - I hope it works out for you.

Hi I'm a Tupper girl and I've never heard of it and haven't been told we are starting to do that. I know my manager did it while she was pregnant, cause she was so sick but she has a seperate place to her own house and only did it to keep working.

Thankyou for your responses. I was a little worried about it to start with but the lady who is having the party is an aunt of my last hostess and I do have the contact details of most of the people attending.
She is bringing all the drinks and nibbles so all I have to worry about is setting up my homewares.
I suppose it is more of an open house thean anything, I will let you know how it goes!!

Hi Melisa,
I have offered Make and Take Demos and Workshops in my own home for a while now. Only to very regular customers who I know quite well though. No one has had a demo here, but I have taught four workshops booked by customers in my home. I have found at these that the sales are a lot higher as I am able to grab anything they ask to see very easily.
I don't make the offer very often, but in the case of a workshop it is hard for people with only a little space to fit one in sometimes, and I have everything I need here so it makes sense.
I have not heard of a hostess telling the consultant that things are done that way though, in my case it has always been my suggestion in order to secure a booking.

Hello,
I would be weary of having people in your home because then you are looking at being covered for insurance and apparently it is really high. If you were going to do something like this you would be best holding it at an external venue like a hall where you are not liable if anyone injured themselves.
Also not sure if you are a Brisbane lady, but I am exploring the idea of getting a few party planners together and having a joint "sell" together.
A wonderful lady from this website mentioned that what they do is advertise through their school for a fundraising party and then each party planner donates 10% of their sales. So you don;t have to worry about getting ladies along because the school promote it. This websitre is just fantastic for ideas!!!!!!
Cheers

you are not going to believe this, but i got an email today from one of my new ladies that joined up.
maybe it is the latest thing...................
Just to let you know that I have booked a showing. The showing is at our place, on the 4th of October, at 4.30. The woman is a friend, and she is coming over with a car full of friends. Her daughter is getting married in QLD on a beach, so I will have to order more stock.Melisa142 replied:
Hi Ladies
Thankyou for all your responses. The morning went down very well, I had over $1500 in sales plus another 3 party bookings. But best of all everybody paid and took there stock on the day, so no follow up or deliveries!
I had all my stock on display so everyone could see how things could be displayed and "what went with what" so many people ordered sets!
Overall, it was a great morning and I would do it again with the right people!

Ok, I admit it...
I started this 'latest thing' rumour.
(because, with this 'latest thing' the real winners are the husbands!)
All those parties hosted at home... ahh... nothing like a nice clean house!
