Hi Ladies
I have my first party this Saturday - I am a Party Plan Virgin so it will be quite an experience for me!!
Any tips for my first time - especially how to get over the nerves!

Has been a number of years and many, many parties since i did my party. I actually told the guest that I was new. I think i said something like 'be gentle this is my first ever party! I'm a party plan virgin please don't bite!!
Have some notes on what you are going to say.

Have fun
relax

Thanks Kelly, I have actually written a spiel out that I have been going through in my head so I have some notes to fall back on if I crash and burn!
I am sure it is just the hurdle of getting over the first party - "the unknown" - once I have done this I will feel a lot better.

Good luck! Practising your spiel is a great idea.
It is pretty nerve racking. I am hoping that things get easier as things progress.
I had my second party last Friday. There was 10 people there. I have my third this Saturday and she has 35 people coming!!! I am pretty freaked, but I will cope.. I hope..

i did my first party not that long ago and i was so nervie i can hardly remember what i said but by end of the night i had really enjoyed it as you will .just have fun and be your self .
Michelles replied:
Don't worry - you will be fine.
Just remember, they have no idea what to expect so if you have in your mind or on paper how you want it to go, but you stuff up a little and miss bits ------------ they won;t notice!!!!!
Remember that!!!
And take all the advice you can get from all these wonderful ladies who have been doing it for years. I myself have only done party plan for about 3 months, 2 years ago. Wanted to do it my way and offer more to party planners and lower prices (means more sales) so I have setup with a partner!!!! So I too learn off these ladies who have amazing knowledge and so freely pass it on!!!! This is where I get my party plan induction to the industry and road testing!!! Thanks ladies

yes...good luck! the first few parties are nerve racking, but you will be a pro in no time. I remember my first party - my mum was there, thankfully not many other people,. because she picked on my performance the whole time, saying things like, `don't stand like that, don't say that etc'.
I was really peeved off at her, but in the long run, it really did help me.
you will be fine. definitely practice your spiel, I even took a folder with all the bits in so I can look at it and remember what I was supposed to say next. as you get used to it, it just rolls of the tongue.
JazzyJess replied:
Oh MJ! That would have been dreadful having your Mum pick like that. Glad it helped though. Haha!!
How are you feeling now Kylee?
marina replied:
Hi Kylee,
This is a new job that you are starting and of course you are going to be nervous. I was a so nervous.. Was i going to sell anything , was i going to get bookings.?. but at the end of they day just be yourself, be happy and friendly and the products should sell themselves.
Good luck
