What a fantastic suggestion Marina!
My biggest thing would be to create a menu dinners for the week. I do this ever sunday night and it saves me heaps of time at night - especially since thats the time of day my children like to go a bit strange! Also helps when you go to the shopping you know exactly what you'll need for the week

Ooh good topic!!
When I buy a packet of chux I cut them in half and put them back in the packet - they last twice as long that way.
I buy some things in bulk from Big W rather than with the groceries - things like toilet paper, tissues, soap etc is much cheaper from there.
If you work out when the supermarkets do their refill you can often pick up perfectly good but discounted items, late at night or last thing on a Saturday (especially if your supermarket is closed Sunday) - they mark down dairy, bakery and meat.
Vinegar and baking soda are good cleaning agents... I buy bigger bottles of disenfectant then pour some into an empty spray bottle, lasts me ages.
We invested in a shredder and shred all our private documents, pet shops are always grateful for a donation for the puppies and kittens to play in :)
I have lots more but I can't think straight at the moment, my head feels like its wrapped in cotton wool.

I just came across a tip to use polar fleece blankets as sheets on beds. I think it is a great idea. Flannelette Sheets sets cost a fortune. Polar fleece is so easy to wash and dries in no time. You can buy large polar fleece rugs and fold them in half and put on children's beds like a sleeping bag. I will try making a few fitted type sheets with end of season clearance material, luckily a Spotlight has just opened up near me. I will be definitely trying this idea. I was actually looking for a pattern to make a no sew dog bed from polar fleece when I came across this idea. I have just adopted a lovely groodle called Bella from a lady who had to give away her dog and want to make a bed for her to lie on while she is inside. I do not want to spend a lot as my golden retriever x lab, Buddy is a chewer and cannot be trusted. So I thought I would use polar fleece tied together. When I went to spotlight they even have material patterned with dog bones. I hope to get this project completed this week.

I love this topic and thought I would add a little something here.
I was always running out of things for the kids school lunch by the end of the week eg. roll-ups, fresh fruit, as they always went for them first when they got home from school when looking for something to eat.
So I came up with an idea....I brought sandwich bags and when I unpack the groceries I get out the bags 1 bag for each child for Monday - Friday and I put there snacks in them and put them on the school food shelf in the cupboard. Now there is no running around at the last minute looking for things for them to take to school. They just go to the cupboard and get out the bag that they want for that day, put there snaks into there lunch box and put the empty bag back on the shelf for the next time.
If I buy finger buns or dounuts for them to take I just wrap them indavidually and place them in the freezer and they grab 1 out each day to add to their lunch box. It works out that they are defrosted and fresh when it comes time to eat at school and helps to keep meat/salad sandwiches cool.

Hey that's a great idea Veronica, I already do the individual freeze thing but I love the idea of doing the packing down on shopping day... would stop people snacking during the week!! Thank!
