and some that aren't so nice.

I spent a lovely morning walking around the shopping centre today buying up everything pink for my pink ribbon morning tea.  Having an absolute ball except one little boy who didn't want to sit in the stroller, didn't want to be carried.... I perservered and got most things done.  I even have 2 potential hostesses from shop assistants after I told them what I was looking for (pink things!).

Anyway, when I got back to my car, hauling a kicking screaming soaking wet boy (he'd tipped a bottle of water on himself and even changing his clothes didn't seem to help him) I packed everything into the car and buckled Cameron in.  He grabbed my handbag and bottle of water and tossed the water under the car beside ours.  So I scrambled under the car to get it and got into the car only to find my mobile missing.  I ran back downstairs with same kicking screaming child and went to about half the shops I'd been into asking about my phone.  Two let me ring my mobile to see if we could hear it/someone picked up (they are the first lovely people in my list, along with the others who helped in different ways).  Always using any advantage I have, I left my SF business card with my contact details on it with shop assistants.  Anyway, I decided to ring my hubby to let him know, and lo and behold someone had rung him to say they had my phone and they'd bring it to him at work... I was so grateful!!! (She got a catty and told to ring me for anything she wanted with a big discount!)

Then I went to spotlight to get some pink bags for my goodie bags (which aren't on sale anymore damn I wish I'd bought them on Sunday when they were!!) and when I got to the check out the lady in front of my was $1.80 short for her purchases.  I said to her, oh I have that let me help.  She said I don't think so.  I said, yes, please let me do this for you, it will be my good deed for the day, and got my wallet out.  She said no it won't and shoved the items back to the check out girl and said hold these and walked out without a word.  No thank you, no nothing.  I don't mind people not accepting my help, it was only $1.80 after all but she was just so rude about it.

So in the space of an hour I saw the best in humanity and something a little less favourable.  Needless to say, if you're in checkout ahead of me and $1.80 short I will still offer my help if I have it... but it makes you feel a little less charitable towards strangers doesn't it.
