I thought it was going to be a flop!

Hi everyone. Yesterday I had a show and it was only 3 women and the hostess.. That is fine.. We do big shows and small shows. The house inside was full to the brim with household stuff. The hostesses family have moved in with the mother-in- law and of course all the furniture, books,. games .toys. clothes all over the house.  There was no room to walk.. if you can imagine.... I went into the kitchen and  I  swear there was no where to set up the jewellery. The kitchen table was being used as a study with computer stuff everywhere. No kitchen bench space at all.  There was just no room to move. I went back into the lounge room and a tiny coffee table full of cakes for the guests. No where to put the jewellery. There was clutter everywhere and 2 dogs barking  at me and jumping on me.  My daugher was with me and we just looked at each other .. what do we do??? I told the hostess to move the food so i can use this teensy weensy table. Thankfully the grandmother ( what  a lovely lady)  was yelling at the son to get the Dogs out of the house. A bit of chaos to say the least.  So  I did not  put out any of my busts,  was not concerned too much about the presentation of the jewellery.   I put down as much as i could  which worked out to about 10% of my stock. This is how small the table was. The 3 ladies came and you know what. They were so friendly and nice and the Hostess was absolutely wonderful and so was the grandmother of the house. I sold $376, plus the hostess got  $278 worth of jewellery for $98, which was 4 pieces of Jewellery. I got one new booking as well.   So $188 for a couple of hours is great. It just goes to show me  that it  does not matter how much is on table.. There is always something for everyone. t was a great  learning experience for me. Just a side note... Never go into a show stressing about sales..  Sales happen and you cannot push. go in there to be friendly, to have a good time and what happens happens. I honestly had the best time.... cheers Marina

Hi again

I think i was misunderstood.

The amount of ladies at a party  does not phase me..

when I do  a reminder call,  I  never ever ask  how many ladies are coming..

I did at the start..

20 ladies  - wow.  will be a big show  and  only sold minimal.

3 ladies.. will be a flop.. sold 700..

Now i never ask...

As long as the show goes ahead i am happy.

EVERY SHOW WILL LEAD YOU SOMEWHERE..

the problem for me was  i could not display all my stock and that was the reason i though it was going to be a flop...  I hardly had anything on the table and  you could barely move in the room.

gotta log off now..  bye
