Flyers for Market days etc??

Discussions : General discussion : Flyers for Market days etc??

Not sure if this is the right section for this question but here goes....

I am about to venture into doing market days and fundraiser type events. I have not done them before but was thinking I would need some flyers or something to hand out to people with info on booking a party or placing an order etc...

Has anyone made any flyers? How do I word them? I was thinking A5 (is that the half A4 size??) in colour to grab more attention, but colour is so expensive to print.

Does anyone know a cheapish printer/copy place??

If you have done one before could you share it here? Also any other tips for market days??

Thanks,

Michelle

100 Vistaprint postcards @ $8.81  - glossy postcards, great quality, look professional.

If you want to print your own, go with a canon printer - you really can't beat them and to refill the cartridges is soooooooo easy.  The 4300 and 5300 do duplex printing as well, so you can print front and back of the paper without having to touch it and turn it around etc.

Keep what you want to say basic and to the point - not too much jibberish for people to sort through.  And an offer of some kind helps you judge whether or not these flyers have worked a purpose.  Just a couple of ideas for you.

Hi Michelle,

What I do is print my small flyers on an A4 size in landscape (I print on both sides), and I do three to sheet. I started doing them in this size because A) you get 3 to page and B) because a flyer fits neatly into a business size envelope for mailing.

Another idea if you want to print your own is - instead of printing in colour which costs a small fortune, use bright paper instead. I have some almost fluro yellow paper which is so eye-catching. Then I can print in black only, but it's still attracts attention.

Good luck at the markets - I hope it pays off for you.

Re: the info about Vistaprint and postcards, is this the USA compmay?

I realise the comment was posted in January this year so it was most probably a special but could you post the website link?  I used to deal with Vistaprint but it was an American website.  DO they have a company in Australia?

Hi,

How did the markets go?  I think you will do okay if your prices are low because at markets people are expecting not to pay too much.  I thought about Markets for my lingerie but I don't think people would want to pay $50.  And then I thought about dropping the prices but I wouldn;t make as much - really I would be cutting myself out.

BUT markets are an excellent marketing strategy to get your flyers out there.  So you are on the right track.  Are you based in Brisbane?  I may still do the markets but would be good to combine to not only cut down the cost, but to have some company and also someone who can watch the table while you go to the toilet or get a cuppa.  Know what I mean???  So if the cost was shared for the table, and you made a few sales and got to promote your parties, you could also enjoy the environment.  WIN WIN SITUATION!!!!!

I would only do markets if I could go with another party planner for these reasons.  Am still considering.

I would genuinely be interested to know how you went.

Cheers

Michelle
