Hi All,

I've just purchased a fantastic book called "Build It Big: 101 Insider Secrets from Top Direct Selling Experts" - it's a really motivational book - and has "daily actions" to help you "Build It Big".

I thought I'd see if anyone would be interested in me posting these on a daily-ish basis?? It's such a great resource & I'd love for everyone to benefit from it (just reading the first chapter & I've learnt heaps already!)

Here's the first "Daily Action" so you know what they'll be like (I highly recommend adding this book to your library also!) - the first one actually carries over two days...

ACTIONS FOR TODAY AND TOMORROW:

TREAT EVERY DAY LIKE YOUR FIRST DAY IN BUSINESS!
Going forward, here are three things to do in the next 48 hours that will help you treat each day like your first day in business:

1. Start a journal of your accomplishments and the things you need to improve. Pat yourself on the back for your good points and make immediate plans to improve any weaknesses you note. This will help you to stay focused on your goals and what you need to do to reach them.

2. As you begin each workday, see yourself as a true champion. Visualise yourself speaking positively and confidently; walking or sitting with good posture; remembering names and details; receiving praise and rewards for your efforts.

3. Keep a highly visible plaque, picture, or inspiring quote in your workplace to remind you of your purpose and why your work is important. It should be a visual so powerful that it inspires you each time you see it. This reminder will help you to maintain that fresh, first-day focus as you press toward your goals.

Actions for Creating Your Vision Today

If you haven't done it already, sit down and formally define  why you are building this business. Be specific.

Find or create a picture that invokes the feelings of your Why every time you see it. Post this picture someplace where you can easily see it daily and refer to it often.

Ok... I'm having a gawdawful time trying to get use to this darn night shift I'm on... I've spent yet another restless, sleepless night in bed... till I couldn't take it any longer (I hate disturbing hubby's sleep... his job's full on enuff already!!)... so figured I'd be productive & post tomorrow's (or today's... depending how you see it) daily task early...

Ok.... so this next section refers to the following:
Starting Quickly - once you've made the decision to begin your home business, it is important you get started immediately & experience early success. Setting & attaining goals within your first 90 days of business will keep you motivated & start making money for you.

Getting Off The Starting Line
*Take control of your calendar! It's critical to form this habit early so that you manage your business rather than letting your business manage you.
*Host a Business Kickoff Event at your home.
*Don't spend a lot of time organising an office. A phone, calendar, and your enthusiasm are your most critical components of success. Your personal connection is the key that will unlock the door to your success.
*Talk to as many people as possible.
*Be consistent
*Make "FRANK" a friend in your business development. ("Friends, Relatives, Acquaintances, Neighbours, Kids" - keep this list, along with phone numbers, with you at all times so that you can make a call when you have a free moment, or so that you can add new names to the list when they come to you).
*Order business cards and give them out at every opportunity.
*Use the resources available to you and attend training/meetings regularly.

Actions for Today and Tomorrow (Mon/Tues):
*Set a date and time for your family sheduling meeting. Emphasize how important it is to you that everyone makes a point to be there every week. This is a great opportunity to discuss and compare schedules/sport committments etc so that you can run your business effectively, without compromising family committments in the process.
*Set a date for your Business Kickoff Event and set goals for the number of guests, total sales, number of bookings, and potential team members you would like to gain from the show.
*Begin your FRANK list and commit to add at least three names every day.

Enjoy! :)
