Oh, I so know how you feel!! My in laws were thrilled when we had our little girl as she was the first grandaughter. Then I was pregnant with our 2nd child at the same time as my hubby's sister was pregnant with their 2nd child, she was fussed over and treated like she was glass. When I had our little fella, they all went " Oh, its a boy" and thats about it. My sister n law had her little fella and well he is now the favourite - my kids never get a look in. In fact they havent even came to see the kids in almost 6 months. My other sister n law is due to have her first bub in Nov and they have found out that she is having a girl - well it is as if they havent got a granddaughter already at all. They are so thrilled that she is giving them a girl - I think they need to appreciate the ones they have first before they expect more grandchildren. I could go on and on about the favouritism in the family, it is just unbelievable so I totally know where you are coming from and how you would be feeling.

I have to add it is not only the inlaws but sometimes our parents. I know my mum loves my three boys to the end of the earth and back, but when my brother and sister in law (who never visit mum and dad) had their baby daughter not so long ago, they went all girl nuts. It really is like a new fad and if you are lucky to be in the spotlight with the family then go for it. I would not change my three boys for the world and am glad that mum now has another granddaughter (2 out of 9), but I think peopl need to be more mindful of others who aren't so blessed not in having the 'right' sex baby but also in having a baby at all!!!

Just my thought anyway!
