Hi everyone,
I just wanted to send an invitation out to those of you who would like to participate in a Trades evening at Bald Hills Memorial Hall on Saturday August 11th. Cost is $30 and that includes a table. The evening is being put on by Bald Hills Kindergarten P and F Association which I am the President for. Your $30 will go towards our hire of the hall for the evening and to cover our other expenses. I already have Saucy Fish, Learning Ladder, Tupperware, Diva consultants but am looking for any others that would like to participate. Please send me a message to let me know if you are interested and your email and I can send you all the other info you need to know.

Yay, I see you finally made it on here, Helen. Welcome to the PP site! This night should be great everyone! I'll be there - am bound to run into a few of you for sure!
ExMember148 replied:
Well Jen, if Hel is a friend of yours she must be terribly nice (so put in a good word for us will ya??) hahaha
jenlerose replied:
Aw, shucks, thank you, Julie. I did put in a good word for you actually. Trouble is its a kindy family night so kids will be there.
Why don't you pm helen, see if you can work something out - Could be just what the kindy needs to boost their numbers in a few years time...ha ha..
ExMember148 replied:
Oh Jen !! That's horrible (horribly funny!!!) Hel has been fantastic and I have booked my spot !!
But btw :
I get this discrimination ALL the time (I am sure other ADULT PARTY PLANNERS know what I mean). And you know what, it really gets to be quite frustrating. As a business person in 'THE INDUSTRY' I am fully aware of the legalities of it all, there is more to it than you could imagine. I also have quite a few years marketing experience, so spent a lot of time on designing the correct image for [ExMember148].
jenlerose replied:
Yay! I'll see you there then! Good on you, Julie - hard work is always rewarded!
scentedcandlelady replied:
Hi will pm you for more information.... thanks Julie
Zammy replied:

Hi All
Just wondering what time this starts. Is there an entry fee for the public?
Sorry if this is a silly question, but I couldn't find it anywhere!
Lilygirl_wytch replied:
I'll be there too so come and say hello! love to meet you all finally....
Lilygirl
Hel replied:
This starts at 7pm and finishes around 10pm. Entry for the public is gold coin donation - all are welcome to attend, the more the merrier I say. So please tell all your freinds its on. We have 25 stall holders which has this little packed out and there will be drinks and food available on the evening as well as lots of prizes. Looking forward to seeing you all there!
SaucyKath replied:
Sounds like you've organised a great event Hel. I wish you all a very successful night. Don't forget that we'd love to see some photos too!
jenlerose replied:
Three cheers for Hel for organising such a fantastic variety of stalls last night. The hall was truly packed to capacity with all the very best of procucts. There was so much on offer!
It's always great to catch up with your PP mates as well! I had fun!
ExMember148 replied:
Congratulations to the organisers, they left no stone unturned. Advertising - yep, food and drink - yep, great variety of stalls - yep................
Did [ExMember148] open her mouth one too many times and tell EVERYONE that stopped for two seconds about partyplans - yep!!!
elle replied:
Great amount of stalls I agree just a shame that there wasn't the people coming in the door who were interested in the event. I came to have a look and was very disappointed for the stall holders who were standing around looking and talking to one another..yes I agree great for networking but coffee mornings do this as well.
Great idea with the disney products... loved the stall.
Hel replied:
I would like to thank all you lovely ladies for your wonderful support of this event, I greatly appreciate it.
Yes the turn out of people coming through was very disappointing but we(the kindy committee) did the best we could with our advertising and getting the word out there. I mean this event was listed on 3 websites, 5 different local papers and there were flyers in alot of different local shops as well as letterbox drops done over the place. Considering there were only 3 of us that were doing this, I think we did well! We ourserlves were very disappointed in the lack of support we received from the parents at our kindy, considering there are 85 families at the centre - 3 of us are on the committee and 3 were stall holders and I saw maybe two others come through the door - that is our biggest disappointment. We got the word out there and it was up to the people to come, we couldnt have done much more in that sense.
Thank you again to all you ladies for coming along, I really enjoyed meeting you all and chatting with you - I hope you werent too disappointed with the evening.
elle replied:
Hel,
Sorry it wasn't aimed as a personal attack.. I enjoyed who I spoke to and what I saw.
just wondering why lately expo's don't seem to get people through the door... are we oversaturating the market... is there something going on out there that we don't know about... is day time better than night time... should it run along side something else...
Please don't take these as attacks they arent' meant to me... it is just personal thoughts....
i was also wondering whether maybe if they are held with an open day at the kindy... or an information night for new parents...
Lilygirl_wytch replied:
Well done Hel, you did a great job!
These type of events can be sticky, and not everyone can be satisfied, but for what it's worth I think you did a great job, and yes it was great to catch up with other pp ladies who I hadn't met yet and others I haven't seen for awhile.
I recently did another event and it was a complete fizzer even though a huge amount of advertising was done for this event. But at the end of the day , if they come they come.
once again congrats.
Lilygirl
ExMember148 replied:
You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink!!
Well done Hel ! Shame on the kindy families who expect revenue raising to support their children's learning experience.
racjez replied:
I just wanted to add my 2cents worth. I fully agree with all the other ladies. All you can do is put your company out there and do your best.
I had a great time talking to all of you and putting faces to the names.
The last few events I have attended have been a bit low on numbers but it only takes one person to start a whole new branch of customers.
I also thought the event was organized extremely well and Hel and the other ladies should be really proud of themselves.
