I have just gone to the site and registered.  As it is not up and running yet, they only are requesting e-mail addresses at the moment and will notify everyone when they have started so that they can create a profile.

.

Cant wait until it starts, it looks like it will be a great boost for people to create a bigger network of friends/repeat customers to have parties and build sales.

.

Thanks Mr PP for telling us!

Had to right click to open this window, otherwise you log out of party plans again .

A great site, though I for one am not a big fan of party swapping.  Sorry, but I always hold my end of the deal up and I really do a good job of holding a party.  And then I am always let down by the other end.  I actually tell my consultants NOT to party swap.  If someone genuinely wants to view your product, they will host a party, they shouldn't be co-erced into it.

If you are in party plan, you really should become quite proficient at networking.  It's not easy, but it is a necessary evil you have to conquer.  Hosts WILL NOT come knocking at your door.  You have to get out there and get yourself mobile, sitting behind a computer screen waiting for the elusive party swap to end all party swaps may not be the answer you are hoping for.

I have registered, even though I am also not a huge fan of party swaps. I love doing parties, but don't like feeling someone is having one to do me a favor or out of some warped sense of obligation.

I do think that it can be a great resource if you are looking for a product. I am finding that it can be hard to find consultants in my local area and see this as a means of doing just that. Even if it means I end up hosting a great party for them, and they don't necessarily do that same for me! Same as any other party I book, some will be great others won't be.

I like to support other PPers and hope they will also choose to support me in the end, even if it is just referrals to other people.

partyplans replied:

Actually, an interesting component is the "EBAY" style feedback and ranking system. If you hold a demonstration for someone and they do not deliver the same, you simply leave feedback to that effect (and vice versa). Because that becomes part of their profile, that should keep people a bit more honest.

I registered after I got home last night (thanks for the heads up MrPP) and think it's a fabulous idea. I love the whole idea of party swaps - I would never have met all my wonderful UCW friends without them! I haven't done too many, but they have been successful. I wouldn't consider a party swap unless it was with a company I genuinely wanted to have a party with. Networking is a great tool in our business, and I always talk to my customers about other PP's that are out there - and I've certainly learned about a lot of new ones since joining this site!! Well done on another great business tool guys!!

There would have to be some sort of huge moderators in effect.  It would be so easy to leave 'negative' feedback.  What you consider a good party vs a bad party could be two different things entirely and in effect there will be a difference of feedback.  I am just pointing these things out for consideration.   Also, when you leave feedback (or any post in a forum for that matter) you become accountable for it.  So, you may say something not to the 100% feedback as expected and then it could be interpreted totally off the wall.

EG:  I did a swap with someone, her party she held for me was great, and then ALL the cancellations and then I had to chase up the money for weeks overdue, etc, it turned into a nightmare.  After that I WILL NOT hold one of her parties in return as arrange as part of the swap, I am REALLY sorry about this, but if she is this disorganised I dread to think of the type of consultant she would be, and will not subject my friends to this.  THEREFORE she would have every right to give me bad points for NOT holding my end of the swap, BUT come on, would you?

So what happens to the partyswap area on this forum?

ExMember148 replied:

Yeah!! Just found the fabulous 'JAN RUHE' author of fantastic books such as 'Let's Party' and 'MLM Nuts $ Bolts' also does not like party swapping.  (see page 80 - Let's Party)

This service is also for..

Finding someone local for general product/catalogue orders,

Finding people for fundraisers or other community events,

Perhaps getting invited to display at expo's yourself etc.

(not just swaps)

EnvyEssentials replied:

I have also just registered. I am sure that there will be some initial teething problems but it looks like it could create some great opportunities.

A Big Thank You Ladies, will check it out

ingashoebiz replied:

Can anyone tell me has this site started and the feed back from this.  thanks

partyplans replied:

No, not yet. It may not be release it at all....

Reason being that the new PartyPlan.com community / social networking system would probably make it obsolete before it could even get started.

For example, people can search for members that indicate they are interested in party swaps in their profile.

(See the bottom of the FaceBook topic)

Of course, we do already have the domains PartySwaps.com and SaleSwaps.com too!!

Hmmm

ingashoebiz replied:

Thanks for that Mr pp.  I have noticed in some of your posts you are putting 'partyplan.com'  can I ask is there an omission of the the 's' or is that how it's meant.

With regards to the other site I was very interested for the fundraisers or other community events, expos etc to respond to or get invited to these events.

Thanks again for the response

partyplans replied:

yes...

PartyPlan.com

no 's'.... and no '.au'

For events, expos etc..  the functionality of the new site will be ideal.

Forgot to mention.. we also have www.partyplanexpo.com too

The 2008 North Brisbane Expo details are up there if anyone is interested in attending!!

ingashoebiz replied:

Thank you for clearing that up.
